Nessa frase, não há um sujeito expresso para “falar”. A ideia implícita é que as duas amigas já ouviram várias pessoas indeterminadas falar sobre os monumentos. A frase sem o verbo “falar” não me parece gramaticalmente incorreta, mas também não me soa natural neste contexto. Pessoalmente, eu manteria o verbo.
