  • What would be the right way to think about the phrase ‘mesmo agora’ ? My understanding is that ‘acabar de ter’ means “just had/did X” so what role does ‘mesmo agora’ play? Thanks in advance!

    • “Mesmo agora” means “right now”. While arguably redundant, it’s common to use it in combination with “acabar de” for emphasis, as was the case here 🙂

    • O infinitivo é premir (to press)! “Prima” é uma conjugação do presente do conjuntivo, na 3a pessoa do singular.

      • I just listened to this shortie and was wondering why isnt it “prema” for the 3rd person subjunctive of premir?

        • “Prema” is part of the conjugations for another verb that has fallen out of use, “premer”. “Premer” and “premir” are synonyms, but only the latter is still commonly used.
