Comments

  • I like all the shorties, but this one was particularly interesting and entertaining! I also just discovered that I can change the speed… great function to have too.

    • It means “he not only survived, but fully recovered”. Don’t forget that as a member you can click the Translate toggle button to see the translations for these. 🙂

    • A more literal translation would be “But the reason for his victory has much to tell you…”, but the meaning in English is more like the expression shown in the transcript: “But the reason for his victory has more to it than meets the eye…”

Basically it’s just implying that there is more to the story and that it’s surprising that he won this award for a procedure that was so harmful.

  • Obrigado pelo este „shorty“. Mas tenho uma pergunta sobre o conteúdo.
    Tu escreveste:
„Egas Moniz levou oito tiros, mas ao contrário do que dizem os mitos, não só sobreviveu como recuperou totalmente.“ Eu li que ele tinha de estar num cadeira de rodas. Não se pode falar de „recuperação totalmente“, não é?
    Cumprimentos
