Is there a brief cameo appearance from Joel as Edson in this Shorty? 🙂
Ha ha I was wondering exactly that!
Qual é a diferencá entre canto e esquina. Ou sou os mesmos.
what is the difference between sanita and autoclismo please.
The term “sanita” refers to a toilet (toilet bowl), while “autoclismo” is the Portuguese word for the flush mechanism or cistern of a toilet. Essentially, “sanita” is the part you sit on, and “autoclismo” is the part that releases water to flush the toilet. 🙂
what’s the difference between sanita and autoclismo?
Olá! “Sanita” is the (whole) toilet, and “autoclismo” is the word for the toilet cistern / flushing mechanism of the toilet.
Why is it “Eu não uso máquina de barbers, Eu uso lámina”, with no “a, uma” before the noun. Is it similar to saying “I don’t use shavers, I use razors” in English? Hard to get if it plural. Thanks!
Olá 🙂 The nouns here are in the singular form – the plurals would be “máquinas de barbear” and “lâminas”. What happened here is that the indefinite articles were omitted because that’s an idiomatic choice we can make in general/generic statements. And they have to be indefinite articles in this case because definite articles, by definition, don’t fit well in general statements, since they’re used to single out specific elements.
– Eu não uso máquina de barbear, eu uso lâmina = Eu não uso [uma] máquina de barbear, eu uso [uma] lâmina
It is indeed similar to the pluralized English translation you proposed, which also has a generic value.
