I think Carolina is very traditional woman who carried the Christmas couture with her.
It is very important to pass the traditions to our children so that they can pass to the grandchildren.

I can’t place where “que” comes from. It seems to me the sentence would be fine without it, but apparently that is not the case.

– Desde pequena, a Carolina adora receber presentes (the comma is advisable in this case because “desde pequena” is coming before the subject, out of the default order)

“Que” is optionally used here as a conjunction to link the two parts of the sentence. In a direct translation to English, we could translate it as “that” 🙂
