  • Hi. ‘sendo que…’ is a new one for me! It is translated as ‘and’ so why not just use ‘e’? Or is ‘sendo que’ used in a different context? Thanks!

    • Olá, Jennifer. Officially, “sendo que” would be a causal conjunction, comparable to “since” or “given that” in English. However, it has infiltrated other contexts as a more elegant, formal, literary version of “e” (and). I agree that “e” is good enough; you can stick to that one if you prefer 🙂

    • Olá Alan. Nesses casos, “Como” não está a ser usado no sentido de “how” ou “like”, mas sim no sentido de “since”, “as”, “because” 🙂 A palavra “como” tem vários usos, que dependem do contexto.
