Hi, I am a little puzzled by the word ‘falante’. My dictionary gives this as ‘talkative’ I would have expected ‘falando’ instead.
Hi, Declan. As an adjective, falante can mean talkative, as your dictionary correctly says. As a noun, it means speaker. Falando is in a continuous form we call gerúndio, which would correspond to “speaking” in English. It wouldn’t fit in the sentence unless we rephrased it somehow 🙂
Hi Joseph,
Many thanks again for your help.
Best wishes
Declan
