  • First time i have seen animation. I like this format as it is not too long or complicated so I find it not too difficult but does introduce new words/phrases

  • Amigas Vaidosas…. my dictionary says this means “Vain or Conceited” Friends .
Is this the meaning that was intended, or is there another meaning of Vaidoso
    that is idiomatic?

    • That’s absolutely the meaning, as you can see in the title translation 🙂 But additionally to that, the word is occasionally used in the sense of feeling proud. For example, we can say “um pai vaidoso” to describe a father who is proud of his child(ren).

  • Constança: A Joana também tem uns sapatos muito bonitos.
    Joana: Que querida, obrigada.
Quer dizer, não são sapatos, são botas.
    Eu também gosto muito deles.

So Joana corrects her and says they are boots and not shoes. But she then refers to them using the pronoun “deles” (os sapatos) instead of delas (as botas). Is this a requirement since Constança referred to them as shoes? Would it be rude for Joana to refer to use the feminine pronoun in her response? Or is she referring to them in a more general sense, and disregarding the gender? Thanks!

    • Good catch! It’s not about rudeness, it’s just Joana being incoherent and referring to her boots in a general sense as… shoes 🙂
