Hello – could you please tell me: is “chamar” always intransitive? I see that you use an “a” before the object – eg “iremos chamar a isto”. I’d thought it was a transitive verb. Thanks very much
Olá. The verb ‘chamar’ is generally transitive, although with its own specificities, since there are many ways in which it can be combined with direct/indirect objects and prepositions. For example, “…chamar a isto um marcador de mesa” could also have been “…chamar isto de marcador de mesa”, with no change in meaning 🙂

p.e. “na qual” i.s.o. “onde” It feels like a word (a preposição?) is missing in the original sentence. I’m sure Rui knows how to say it, but it seems a long way from Dutch.
Olá. A frase está correta com “onde” (where), mas “no qual” (in which) também pode ser usado. No dia a dia, a versão mais curta possível seria “Isto é um prato de sopa” 🙂
