I moved to Portugal 3 weeks ago and I haven’t learned any Portuguese and I’ve been intimidated to be honest.
This app is giving me the confidence I need and I am starting to believe I will be able to understand/ speak Portuguese one day 🙏🏼
Yesss! Keep it up Shannon! 🙌
Hello, I have a question about the last sentense in this video, why Patricia said “eu e o pai” instead of “eu e tu pai”? It seems to me the translation should be “me and the father, not your father which should be more approperiate.
Thanks
Olá! Because in context, it’s understood anyway that Patrícia is talking about Tiago’s father, so she can omit the possessive. This is common practice for native speakers. It’s also very common in English to just say “Mommy and I” or “Daddy and I” 🙂
But, but from here its not clear how to skip or to proceed to the next lesson
If you’re coming to this episode from a unit, you can complete the quiz to reveal the Continue button. Or, when in doubt, you can return to Learn > Units and find your place in the list.
Can’t we say: “O que o Tiago bebe muito?” instead “O que é que o Tiago bebe muito?”
Yes, you could definitely say “O que o Tiago bebe muito?” instead of “O que é que o Tiago bebe muito?”, but this second form is more natural to a native speaker, specially on an oral conversation.
I love how “inappropriate” this video is for non-southern European standards. So refreshing! Also, I suspect children do try wine quite early 😅 muito obrigada!
Hi, I don’t even think you’ll be seeing this anymore but how far have you progressed from then to know. You able to speak Portuguese?
