    • Is the water safe to drink in Portugal? Do restaurant ever serve tap water and if so, how do you order it?
Great videos! Love learning with you guys🫶

      • Yes, tap water is safe to drink here, although the taste will vary, depending on the region and the pipes. If you’re at a restaurant, you’ll have to pay for a bottle of water, but you can ask for a glass of water, which will be from the tap, yes. Personally, I do it when ordering an espresso or if I’m still feeling thirsty at the end of the meal and I already finished whatever drink I’m actually paying for. You can just say «Era um copo de água, por favor» (A glass of water, please) or «Arranja-me um copo de água?»(Can you give me a glass of water?). Some cafés and pastry shops may actually serve you bottled water (especially if you’ve ordered something) but that’s not very common.
