Hi,thank you for your amazing learning studio all the time. I have a question in the 3rd line of this shorties, Paulo using”conhecêssemos”, . It will be great if you could help me, Obrigada!
Olá! Thank you for your kind comment 🙂 ‘Conhecêssemos’ is a verb form of the imperfect subjunctive of the verb ‘conhecer’. It’s commonly paired with the conditional, as seen here with ‘gostava’ (which is standing in for the true conditional ‘gostaria’). The subjunctive is often linked to hypotheses, possibilities, desires, etc, so it fits well in this context. There are also structural aspects to the use of subjunctive (the existence of subordinate clauses, ‘triggering’ words such as ‘que’, etc).
Thank you for your kind reply.I understand this very well.
