  • On Portuguese TV, I hear the word “motoristas” used in reference to a truck driver’s strike. Is “condutores” and “motoristas” interchangeable? When they are reporting an accident, I hear the word “condutores”.

    • They’re similar, but not entirely interchangeable. Both “condutores” and “motoristas” translate to “driver”. The difference is that “condutores” is a broad term that can include anyone who drives, while “motoristas” refers more specifically to people who do it as a profession – this includes truck drivers, taxi/Uber drivers, bus drivers, etc.

  • It should be “Next time I’ll put less”. We’ll update the translation soon to fix that. Thank you!
