1
00:00:00,720 –> 00:00:02,402
[Luzes], câmara, ação!
{{Lights, camera, action!}}
2
00:00:02,480 –> 00:00:05,005
Joel, vamos gravar o nosso vídeo de natal,
{{Joel, we’ll record our Christmas video,}}
3
00:00:05,005 –> 00:00:06,373
pela primeira vez.
{{for the first time.}}
4
00:00:06,507 –> 00:00:08,008
Ai, diz lá a verdade…
{{Hey, tell the truth…}}
5
00:00:08,400 –> 00:00:09,576
Filmámos ontem,
{{We filmed it yesterday,}}
6
00:00:09,576 –> 00:00:12,679
e depois nós reproduzimos a gravação.
{{and then we played back the recording.}}
7
00:00:12,980 –> 00:00:14,240
Visualizámos.
{{We watched it.}}
8
00:00:14,348 –> 00:00:16,149
Visualizámos a gravação.
{{We watched the recording.}}
9
00:00:16,560 –> 00:00:18,752
E a nossa energia estava tão em baixo,
{{And our energy was so low,}}
10
00:00:18,819 –> 00:00:21,855
porque tinha sido um dia difícil e…
{{because it had been a difficult day and…}}
11
00:00:21,855 –> 00:00:22,556
Birras.
{{Tantrums.}}
12
00:00:22,556 –> 00:00:22,990
Ya.
{{Yeah.}}
13
00:00:23,280 –> 00:00:25,025
E achávamos que não íamos ter
{{And we didn’t think we’d get}}
14
00:00:25,025 –> 00:00:26,727
outra oportunidade para gravar,
{{another chance to record,}}
15
00:00:26,727 –> 00:00:28,962
então tinha que ser naquele momento.
{{so it had to be at that moment.}}
16
00:00:28,962 –> 00:00:32,099
Eu estava a fazer as mesmas piadas que faço sempre.
{{I was making the same jokes I always make.}}
17
00:00:32,099 –> 00:00:33,534
E o Rui estava tipo…
{{And Rui was like…}}
18
00:00:33,534 –> 00:00:34,600
“Ah, cala-te.”
{{“Oh, shut up.”}}
19
00:00:38,238 –> 00:00:39,706
[Para de ser tão estranho.]
{{Stop being so awkward.}}
20
00:00:39,706 –> 00:00:41,508
[Não, estou apenas a tentar pensar noutras coisas.]
{{No, I’m just trying to think of other things.}}
21
00:00:42,876 –> 00:00:44,244
[Eu sou o que sou.]
{{I am what I am.}}
22
00:00:46,413 –> 00:00:50,717
Ah, porque a magia já não estava tão forte.
{{Ah, because the magic wasn’t so strong anymore.}}
23
00:00:51,785 –> 00:00:58,959
Mas agora conseguimos aproveitar o…
{{But now we can enjoy the…}}
24
00:00:59,826 –> 00:01:01,662
Tipo, “ho, ho, ho!”
{{Like, “ho, ho, ho!”}}
25
00:01:02,863 –> 00:01:04,960
Mas hoje estamos mais bem-dispostos.
{{But today we’re in a better mood.}}
26
00:01:04,960 –> 00:01:06,960
Temos mais [alegria natalina]!
{{We have more Christmas cheer!}}
27
00:01:06,967 –> 00:01:08,435
Sim, hoje eu bebi tequila
{{Yes, today I drank tequila}}
28
00:01:08,435 –> 00:01:11,939
e o Joel fica muito mais engraçado com tequila.
{{and Joel is much funnier with tequila.}}
29
00:01:13,200 –> 00:01:14,074
Cheirem.
{{Smell it.}}
30
00:01:16,920 –> 00:01:18,946
É água, mas com muito cloro.
{{It’s water, but with a lot of chlorine.}}
31
00:01:19,246 –> 00:01:20,848
Ah, pois, é o cloro.
{{Ah, right, it’s the chlorine.}}
32
00:01:21,440 –> 00:01:22,349
Ai, maluco.
{{Oh, [you’re] crazy.}}
33
00:01:23,000 –> 00:01:24,551
Então decidimos gravar de novo,
{{So we decided to record it again,}}
34
00:01:24,551 –> 00:01:26,787
porque vocês merecem muito melhor.
{{because you deserve much better.}}
35
00:01:27,200 –> 00:01:28,522
Sim, a melhor energia.
{{Yes, the best energy.}}
36
00:01:28,522 –> 00:01:30,190
O Rui estava muito “grinchy”,
{{Rui was very “grinchy”,}}
37
00:01:30,190 –> 00:01:31,825
estava muito rabugento.
{{he was very grumpy.}}
38
00:01:31,960 –> 00:01:34,728
Podia ter sido um filme [do] Grinch.
{{It could have been a Grinch movie.}}
39
00:01:34,920 –> 00:01:36,320
Mas hoje estamos melhor.
{{But today we’re better.}}
40
00:01:37,698 –> 00:01:40,067
Então, vamos fazer a mesma introdução, que é,
{{So, we’ll do the same introduction, which is,}}
41
00:01:40,240 –> 00:01:41,869
vamos visualizar os vídeos
{{we’ll watch the videos}}
42
00:01:41,869 –> 00:01:44,800
que a nossa equipa escolheu para mostrarmos.
{{that our team has chosen for us to show.}}
43
00:01:44,800 –> 00:01:46,240
Sim, e respondermos!
{{Yes, and respond!}}
44
00:01:46,360 –> 00:01:48,141
Vamos responder a essas perguntas.
{{We’ll respond to those questions.}}
45
00:01:48,141 –> 00:01:49,776
Se os vídeos que vocês enviaram
{{If the videos you sent in}}
46
00:01:49,776 –> 00:01:51,812
não aparecerem hoje neste vídeo,
{{don’t appear in this video today,}}
47
00:01:51,812 –> 00:01:53,013
não se preocupem,
{{don’t worry,}}
48
00:01:53,160 –> 00:01:54,880
porque vamos gravar um outro podcast,
{{because we’re going to record another podcast,}}
49
00:01:54,880 –> 00:01:57,918
e vamos responder às outras perguntas.
{{and we’ll answer the other questions.}}
50
00:01:57,920 –> 00:01:59,987
Sim, porque nós [achámos] que
{{Yes, because we thought that}}
51
00:01:59,987 –> 00:02:02,155
aquelas perguntas mereciam
{{those questions deserved}}
52
00:02:02,222 –> 00:02:03,991
respostas mais elaboradas.
{{more elaborate answers.}}
53
00:02:05,292 –> 00:02:07,628
Então, para gravar um podcast inteiro
{{So, to record a whole podcast}}
54
00:02:07,628 –> 00:02:09,930
só sobre aqueles assuntos.
{{just on those subjects.}}
55
00:02:10,130 –> 00:02:12,132
E hoje, vamos saber quem vai ganhar
{{And today, we’ll find out who will win}}
56
00:02:12,132 –> 00:02:14,902
o fabuloso prémio
{{the fabulous prize}}
57
00:02:15,502 –> 00:02:18,560
de um ano gratuito de Practice Portuguese Premium!
{{of a free year of Practice Portuguese Premium!}}
58
00:02:18,560 –> 00:02:19,907
Que é tipo…
{{Which is like…}}
59
00:02:19,907 –> 00:02:21,642
130…
{{130…}}
60
00:02:21,642 –> 00:02:24,578
153 euros!
{{153 euros!}}
61
00:02:24,578 –> 00:02:25,512
É isso que vale.
{{That’s what it’s worth.}}
62
00:02:25,512 –> 00:02:27,720
Não vamos dar 153 euros.
{{We’re not giving 153 euros.}}
63
00:02:27,848 –> 00:02:30,217
Só para deixar isto muito claro.
{{Just to make this very clear.}}
64
00:02:30,520 –> 00:02:32,052
Ninguém vai receber um cheque.
{{No one is getting a check.}}
65
00:02:32,400 –> 00:02:34,988
Então, sem mais demoras,
{{So, without further ado,}}
66
00:02:34,988 –> 00:02:36,523
vamos passar ao primeiro vídeo
{{let’s move on to the first video}}
67
00:02:36,523 –> 00:02:39,693
que foi enviado pela Joelle.
{{which was sent in by Joelle.}}
68
00:02:40,661 –> 00:02:41,295
Eu.
{{Me.}}
69
00:02:41,880 –> 00:02:43,797
A Joelle.
{{Joelle. (fem.)}}
70
00:02:44,000 –> 00:02:45,132
Não é Joel.
{{It’s not Joel.}}
71
00:02:45,360 –> 00:02:46,200
Como se escreve?
{{How do you spell it?}}
72
00:02:46,280 –> 00:02:50,037
J-O-E-L-L-E.
{{J-O-E-L-L-E.}}
73
00:02:50,571 –> 00:02:51,338
Ok.
{{Ok.}}
74
00:02:51,480 –> 00:02:54,474
Então, Joelle, vamos ver o teu vídeo.
{{So, Joelle, let’s watch your video.}}
75
00:02:54,920 –> 00:02:56,844
Olá, Rui e Joel.
{{Hello, Rui and Joel.}}
76
00:02:57,240 –> 00:03:01,014
Espero que [esteja] tudo bem com [vocês] e as meninas.
{{I hope all is well with you and the girls.}}
77
00:03:01,548 –> 00:03:03,217
Chamo-me Joelle.
{{My name is Joelle.}}
78
00:03:04,117 –> 00:03:07,554
Moro metade do ano em Portugal
{{I live half the year in Portugal}}
79
00:03:07,554 –> 00:03:08,889
e [a outra metade em] França.
{{and the other half in France.}}
80
00:03:09,080 –> 00:03:11,024
Queria saber [porque é que],
{{I wanted to know why,}}
81
00:03:11,560 –> 00:03:15,368
quando [há festas], os portugueses
{{when there are parties, the Portuguese}}
82
00:03:15,462 –> 00:03:20,067
gostam muito de fazer uma grande fila para comer,
{{really like to queue up to eat,}}
83
00:03:20,667 –> 00:03:23,070
sempre as mesmas coisas.
{{always the same things.}}
84
00:03:23,904 –> 00:03:26,340
E queria saber
{{And I wanted to know}}
85
00:03:27,274 –> 00:03:30,677
[porque é que nos restaurantes] há,
{{why in restaurants there is,}}
86
00:03:31,211 –> 00:03:35,082
no mesmo prato, arroz e batatas fritas.
{{on the same plate, rice and fries.}}
87
00:03:36,016 –> 00:03:39,286
E então queria saber também,
{{And then I also wanted to know,}}
88
00:03:39,296 –> 00:03:43,724
[porque é que] quando eles acabam os pratos,
{{why when they finish their dishes,}}
89
00:03:43,891 –> 00:03:48,629
eles [fazem] assim com as orelhas deles.
{{they go like this with their ears.}}
90
00:03:49,062 –> 00:03:50,030
Voilà!
{{Voila!}}
91
00:03:50,364 –> 00:03:55,669
Desejo boa sorte a todos os participantes,
{{I wish all the participants good luck,}}
92
00:03:55,669 –> 00:04:01,200
[e um Feliz Natal, cheio] de alegria para todos!
{{and a Merry Christmas, full of joy to everyone!}}
93
00:04:01,200 –> 00:04:02,075
Tchau!
{{Bye!}}
94
00:04:02,075 –> 00:04:04,011
Este chocolate é daqui!
{{This chocolate is “from here”! (really good)}}
95
00:04:04,211 –> 00:04:05,479
É daqui!
{{It’s really good!}}
96
00:04:07,120 –> 00:04:08,849
É isso que vocês fazem, é estranho.
{{That’s what you do, it’s weird.}}
97
00:04:08,949 –> 00:04:13,520
Isto é já a primeira resposta, à última pergunta.
{{This is the first answer, to the last question.}}
98
00:04:14,054 –> 00:04:15,589
Quando acabamos de comer,
{{When we finish eating,}}
99
00:04:17,080 –> 00:04:21,394
fazemos assim, se estava muito bom,
{{we go like this, if it was very good,}}
100
00:04:21,962 –> 00:04:26,120
e dizemos, “Uau! Isto é daqui!”
{{and we say, “Wow! This is from here!”}}
101
00:04:26,120 –> 00:04:29,403
E pesquisámos a razão “pelo” qual vocês fazem isso e não…
{{And we researched the reason why you do that and we didn’t…}}
102
00:04:29,403 –> 00:04:29,960
Pela qual.
{{Pela qual. [correction]}}
103
00:04:29,960 –> 00:04:30,637
Pela qual?
{{Why?}}
104
00:04:30,640 –> 00:04:31,338
O que é que eu disse?
{{What did I say?}}
105
00:04:31,338 –> 00:04:32,506
“Razão pelo qual.”
{{“Razão pelo qual.”}}
106
00:04:32,520 –> 00:04:35,475
…pela qual vocês fazem isso
{{…why you do that}}
107
00:04:35,475 –> 00:04:38,812
e nós não descobrimos nenhuma resposta definitiva.
{{and we haven’t come up with any definitive answer.}}
108
00:04:38,879 –> 00:04:40,180
Não, não há.
{{No, there isn’t.}}
109
00:04:42,880 –> 00:04:45,485
Não há uma explicação, é só um gesto
{{There’s no explanation, it’s just a gesture}}
110
00:04:45,485 –> 00:04:47,654
que significa que a comida é muito boa.
{{meaning that the food is very good.}}
111
00:04:48,288 –> 00:04:50,324
A primeira pergunta era…
{{The first question was…}}
112
00:04:50,324 –> 00:04:54,862
Ah, porque é que fazemos filas na época das festas?
{{Ah, why do we queue during the holiday season?}}
113
00:04:55,080 –> 00:04:56,897
Bem, eu acho que não é só Portugal.
{{Well, I don’t think it’s just Portugal.}}
114
00:04:56,897 –> 00:05:00,552
Aqui, quando há uma loja que serve uma coisa
{{Here, when there’s a store that serves something}}
115
00:05:00,567 –> 00:05:02,703
que é famosa por ser muito boa,
{{that’s famous for being very good,}}
116
00:05:02,803 –> 00:05:06,073
é normal que as pessoas vão mais a essa loja,
{{it’s normal for people to go to that store,}}
117
00:05:06,080 –> 00:05:07,608
café, restaurante,
{{café, restaurant, more}}
118
00:05:07,808 –> 00:05:10,477
e na época do Natal forma-se uma fila
{{and at Christmas time a queue forms}}
119
00:05:10,544 –> 00:05:14,056
porque as pessoas concentram-se todas numa data,
{{because people are all concentrated on one date,}}
120
00:05:14,256 –> 00:05:16,750
que é a véspera ou o dia de Natal.
{{which is Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.}}
121
00:05:17,384 –> 00:05:18,819
A segunda pergunta é,
{{The second question is,}}
122
00:05:18,819 –> 00:05:20,988
porque é que servimos arroz e batata frita
{{why do we serve rice and fries}}
123
00:05:20,988 –> 00:05:21,720
no mesmo prato?
{{on the same plate?}}
124
00:05:21,720 –> 00:05:23,423
Isso é muito [carboidrato]!
{{That’s a lot of carbohydrates!}}
125
00:05:23,557 –> 00:05:25,158
Para mim, isso nunca foi muito estranho
{{To me, that was never very strange}}
126
00:05:25,158 –> 00:05:28,580
porque os brasileiros comem frango e [outra] carne
{{because Brazilians eat chicken and another meat}}
127
00:05:28,729 –> 00:05:31,365
no mesmo prato, que também são duas proteínas.
{{on the same plate, which are also two proteins.}}
128
00:05:31,698 –> 00:05:32,966
São duas coisas boas,
{{These are two good things,}}
129
00:05:32,966 –> 00:05:33,978
arroz é bom,
{{rice is good,}}
130
00:05:34,201 –> 00:05:35,536
batata frita também,
{{fried potatoes too,}}
131
00:05:35,636 –> 00:05:37,171
o arroz é um pouco mais saudável,
{{rice is a bit healthier,}}
132
00:05:37,171 –> 00:05:40,307
a batata frita é mais [gulosa], enfim.
{{fried potatoes are more indulgent, in short.}}
133
00:05:40,480 –> 00:05:41,942
Também não é em todos os pratos,
{{It’s not in every dish either,}}
134
00:05:41,942 –> 00:05:44,545
é num prato muito famoso que é o bitoque.
{{it’s in a very famous dish which is bitoque.}}
135
00:05:44,600 –> 00:05:45,946
Sabes o que é um bitoque?
{{Do you know what a bitoque is?}}
136
00:05:46,200 –> 00:05:48,182
É um bife com ovo.
{{It’s a steak with an egg.}}
137
00:05:51,218 –> 00:05:53,120
Temos uma visita!
{{We have a visitor!}}
138
00:05:54,154 –> 00:05:54,922
É o Pai Natal!
{{It’s Santa Claus!}}
139
00:05:54,922 –> 00:05:55,790
Joana, estamos a filmar,
{{Joana, we’re filming,}}
140
00:05:55,790 –> 00:05:57,991
novamente, o nosso episódio de Natal,
{{our Christmas episode again.}}
141
00:05:57,991 –> 00:06:00,160
porque o Rui estava muito rabugento ontem.
{{because Rui was so grumpy yesterday}}
142
00:06:00,160 –> 00:06:02,362
Estamos a comer os chocolates da Joana.
{{We’re eating Joana’s chocolates.}}
143
00:06:02,362 –> 00:06:03,197
[Posso comer um?]
{{Can I have one?}}
144
00:06:03,200 –> 00:06:03,830
Claro.
{{Of course.}}
145
00:06:03,830 –> 00:06:04,798
São os teus.
{{They’re yours.}}
146
00:06:04,800 –> 00:06:05,866
Nós é que roubamos.
{{We’re the ones who stole them.}}
147
00:06:05,866 –> 00:06:06,633
Quero esse mesmo.
{{I want that one.}}
148
00:06:06,640 –> 00:06:08,068
Ai, o do Porto?
{{Hey, the one from Porto?}}
149
00:06:08,168 –> 00:06:09,069
Um portinho?
{{A little port?}}
150
00:06:09,169 –> 00:06:10,370
Um portinho.
{{A little port.}}
151
00:06:11,720 –> 00:06:14,708
Então, [o] bitoque é um prato que tem um bife,
{{So, the bitoque is a dish that has a steak,}}
152
00:06:14,708 –> 00:06:16,443
um ovo por cima,
{{an egg on top,}}
153
00:06:16,444 –> 00:06:19,012
que se chama “ovo a cavalo.”
{{which is called “egg on horseback.”}}
154
00:06:20,280 –> 00:06:22,015
Coitada, a Joana não consegue passar
{{Poor Joana can’t get by}}
155
00:06:22,015 –> 00:06:23,684
com esta tralha toda.
{{with all this junk.}}
156
00:06:23,720 –> 00:06:24,651
Consegues?
{{Can you?}}
157
00:06:25,752 –> 00:06:27,621
A Joana está a passar por baixo dos fios
{{Joana is going under the wires}}
158
00:06:27,621 –> 00:06:28,856
e da câmara,
{{and the camera,}}
159
00:06:29,122 –> 00:06:31,625
e está de gatas, de quatro.
{{and she’s on all fours.}}
160
00:06:31,625 –> 00:06:32,759
De quatro!
{{On all fours!}}
161
00:06:34,895 –> 00:06:35,529
B-roll.
{{B-roll.}}
162
00:06:37,231 –> 00:06:38,398
Coitadinha.
{{Poor thing.}}
163
00:06:39,199 –> 00:06:41,602
Então, é um prato que tem um bife
{{So, it’s a dish that has a steak}}
164
00:06:41,602 –> 00:06:45,005
com um ovo por cima, que se chama ovo a cavalo,
{{with an egg on top, which is called an egg on horseback,}}
165
00:06:45,539 –> 00:06:47,608
como se ele estivesse a cavalo no bife.
{{as if it were on horseback on the steak.}}
166
00:06:47,880 –> 00:06:48,976
Ah, ok!
{{Ah, okay!}}
167
00:06:48,976 –> 00:06:51,178
Batata frita e arroz.
{{Fried potatoes and rice.}}
168
00:06:51,520 –> 00:06:54,648
Então, é assim, o prato é assim, pronto.
{{So, that’s it, that’s the dish, that’s it.}}
169
00:06:54,748 –> 00:06:56,840
Obrigado, Joelle, e boas festas.
{{Thank you, Joelle, and happy holidays.}}
170
00:06:56,840 –> 00:06:59,453
Boas festas! Vamos ver se vais ganhar.
{{Happy holidays! Let’s see if you win.}}
171
00:06:59,680 –> 00:07:03,991
Ok, agora é a Grace e a sua cadela, Kobe.
{{Ok, now it’s Grace and her dog, Kobe.}}
172
00:07:04,291 –> 00:07:07,261
Olá, o meu nome é Grace
{{Hello, my name is Grace}}
173
00:07:07,261 –> 00:07:11,632
e esta é a minha cadela Kobe.
{{and this is my (female) dog Kobe.}}
174
00:07:12,132 –> 00:07:16,069
Estudo Practice Portuguese há cinco anos,
{{I’ve been studying Practice Portuguese for 5 years,}}
175
00:07:16,170 –> 00:07:21,775
e passei o meu exame CIPLE há dois anos.
{{and I passed my CIPLE exam 2 years ago.}}
176
00:07:21,842 –> 00:07:22,676
Obrigada!
{{Thank you!}}
177
00:07:24,745 –> 00:07:27,948
Como [criaram] o [Practice Portuguese],
{{How did you create Practice Portuguese,}}
178
00:07:28,215 –> 00:07:30,584
e como foi no início?
{{and what was it like at the beginning?}}
179
00:07:31,185 –> 00:07:32,819
E, finalmente,
{{And finally,}}
180
00:07:32,819 –> 00:07:38,158
qual é a [vossa] tradição de Natal preferida?
{{what is your favourite Christmas tradition?}}
181
00:07:38,400 –> 00:07:41,195
Obrigada! E boas festas.
{{Thank you! And happy holidays.}}
182
00:07:41,328 –> 00:07:42,296
Boas festas!
{{Happy holidays!}}
183
00:07:42,296 –> 00:07:45,632
Primeiro, parabéns por teres passado o CIPLE,
{{First, congratulations on passing the CIPLE,}}
184
00:07:45,632 –> 00:07:46,600
isso não é fácil.
{{that’s not easy.}}
185
00:07:46,600 –> 00:07:47,501
Não é fácil.
{{It’s not easy.}}
186
00:07:47,501 –> 00:07:48,969
CIPLE não é “simple”!
{{CIPLE is not simple!}}
187
00:07:53,407 –> 00:07:55,175
A Joana está ali a rir-se.
{{Joana is over there laughing.}}
188
00:07:55,676 –> 00:07:56,543
[Ó meu Deus.]
{{Oh my God.}}
189
00:07:56,543 –> 00:07:58,560
Ok, CIPLE não é “simple”,
{{Ok, CIPLE is not simple,}}
190
00:07:58,846 –> 00:08:01,481
e parabéns porque é muito importante,
{{and congratulations because it’s very important,}}
191
00:08:01,481 –> 00:08:03,784
porque agora já podes ser cidadã.
{{because now you can be a citizen.}}
192
00:08:04,117 –> 00:08:06,520
Como é que começou o Practice Portuguese?
{{How did Practice Portuguese start?}}
193
00:08:06,520 –> 00:08:07,821
Rui, explica lá.
{{Rui, explain.}}
194
00:08:07,821 –> 00:08:12,092
Então, nós trabalhávamos os dois em Silicon Valley,
{{So, we both worked in Silicon Valley,}}
195
00:08:12,459 –> 00:08:15,596
e éramos [dois magnatas da tecnologia], não era?
{{and we were two tech tycoons, weren’t we?}}
196
00:08:15,662 –> 00:08:16,797
Magnatas da tecnologia.
{{Tech moguls.}}
197
00:08:16,930 –> 00:08:18,866
E contactámos a IBM.
{{And we contacted IBM.}}
198
00:08:19,132 –> 00:08:23,804
O Elon Musk [deu-nos] um montante significativo
{{Elon Musk gave us a significant amount}}
199
00:08:23,804 –> 00:08:25,680
de dinheiro para lançar o Practice Portuguese.
{{of money to launch Practice Portuguese.}}
200
00:08:25,680 –> 00:08:28,375
E nós lançámos o primeiro site,
{{And we launched the first website,}}
201
00:08:28,375 –> 00:08:29,977
e fomos ao Shark Tank.
{{and went on Shark Tank.}}
202
00:08:30,444 –> 00:08:31,845
[Olá, tubarões],
{{Hello, sharks,}}
203
00:08:31,979 –> 00:08:33,547
[já estiveram a aprender português
{{have you ever been learning Portuguese}}
204
00:08:33,547 –> 00:08:34,715
e não conseguiram?]
{{and weren’t able to?}}
205
00:08:35,382 –> 00:08:36,720
Agora a sério.
{{Now for real.}}
206
00:08:37,280 –> 00:08:39,152
Começámos como um podcast simples
{{We started as a simple podcast}}
207
00:08:39,152 –> 00:08:41,971
porque eu precisava de uma forma de
{{because I needed a way to}}
208
00:08:42,089 –> 00:08:45,520
ouvir portugueses falarem português.
{{hear Portuguese people speak Portuguese.}}
209
00:08:45,520 –> 00:08:47,761
Praticar a compreensão oral.
{{Practice listening comprehension.}}
210
00:08:47,800 –> 00:08:48,262
Sim.
{{Yes.}}
211
00:08:48,440 –> 00:08:50,397
Então, o podcast era apenas
{{So, the podcast was just}}
212
00:08:50,397 –> 00:08:56,870
o Rui a ler textos de forma lenta e simples e clara,
{{Rui reading texts slowly and simply and clearly,}}
213
00:08:56,985 –> 00:09:00,600
e as pessoas ouviam e faziam o download da…
{{and people would listen and download the…}}
214
00:09:00,600 –> 00:09:02,476
Não! Se pagassem,
{{No! If they paid,}}
215
00:09:02,643 –> 00:09:06,346
recebiam a transcrição desse episódio.
{{they’d get the transcript of that episode.}}
216
00:09:06,713 –> 00:09:08,782
Mas recebemos muitos mails a dizer…
{{But we received a lot of emails saying…}}
217
00:09:09,560 –> 00:09:10,984
Que eles queriam mais.
{{That they wanted more.}}
218
00:09:11,018 –> 00:09:12,886
Queriam coisas mais simples.
{{They wanted simpler things.}}
219
00:09:12,986 –> 00:09:15,856
Sim, algum sistema mais passo a passo.
{{Yes, some kind of step-by-step system.}}
220
00:09:15,856 –> 00:09:18,559
Então, começámos a criar uma plataforma.
{{So we started to create a platform.}}
221
00:09:18,559 –> 00:09:20,594
Com a ajuda de uma equipa pequena.
{{With the help of a small team.}}
222
00:09:20,594 –> 00:09:22,429
Com lições interativas,
{{With interactive lessons,}}
223
00:09:22,440 –> 00:09:24,831
para quem não sabia nada de português.
{{for those who didn’t know any Portuguese.}}
224
00:09:24,965 –> 00:09:27,668
E essa plataforma depois, eventualmente,
{{And that platform eventually}}
225
00:09:27,720 –> 00:09:30,671
cresceu para uma aplicação móvel.
{{grew into a mobile application.}}
226
00:09:30,838 –> 00:09:33,200
Foi quando o Practice Portuguese cresceu mais.
{{That’s when Practice Portuguese grew the most.}}
227
00:09:33,200 –> 00:09:34,875
Eu deixei o meu trabalho.
{{I left my job.}}
228
00:09:35,200 –> 00:09:38,445
Eu trabalhava como assistente de bordo,
{{I was working as a flight attendant,}}
229
00:09:39,240 –> 00:09:41,181
e o Joel trabalhava como web designer.
{{and Joel was working as a web designer.}}
230
00:09:41,181 –> 00:09:44,484
E conseguimos dedicarmo-nos os dois a este projeto,
{{And we were both able to dedicate ourselves to this project,}}
231
00:09:44,585 –> 00:09:47,387
e foi assim que nasceu o Practice Portuguese.
{{and that’s how Practice Portuguese was born.}}
232
00:09:47,387 –> 00:09:51,491
E, na verdade, deixámos de gravar podcasts só de áudio,
{{And, in fact, we stopped recording audio-only podcasts,}}
233
00:09:51,491 –> 00:09:54,417
porque, agora para podermos publicar no YouTube,
{{because now, in order to publish them on YouTube,}}
234
00:09:54,417 –> 00:09:56,330
e Instagram e [TikTok],
{{and Instagram and TikTok,}}
235
00:09:56,697 –> 00:09:57,731
tem que ser vídeo.
{{they have to be video.}}
236
00:09:57,931 –> 00:10:00,000
Então o nosso podcast agora é [em] vídeo!
{{So our podcast is now in video!}}
237
00:10:00,100 –> 00:10:02,636
Mas [tentamos] gravar de uma maneira que
{{But we try to record in a way that}}
238
00:10:02,703 –> 00:10:06,273
vocês não precisem de ver o que estamos a fazer.
{{you don’t need to see what we’re doing.}}
239
00:10:06,280 –> 00:10:07,574
Mas ver é muito bom.
{{But watching is very good.}}
240
00:10:07,674 –> 00:10:09,276
As pessoas começaram a dizer-nos,
{{People started telling us,}}
241
00:10:09,276 –> 00:10:12,446
vocês são muito lindos, queremos ver-vos.
{{you’re very beautiful, we want to see you.}}
242
00:10:12,779 –> 00:10:14,715
E querem ver a tua boca a mexer.
{{And they want to see your mouth move.}}
243
00:10:14,748 –> 00:10:18,085
A boca a mexer, porque é melhor para praticar.
{{The mouth moving, because it’s better for practicing.}}
244
00:10:24,958 –> 00:10:25,959
Ah, não, não!
{{Ah, no, no!}}
245
00:10:25,959 –> 00:10:27,427
Tens que aguentar,
{{You have to put up with it,}}
246
00:10:27,427 –> 00:10:29,280
é muito estranho de repente não teres.
{{it’s very strange suddenly not having it.}}
247
00:10:29,280 –> 00:10:31,598
Mas estas luzes fazem-me calor.
{{But these lights make me hot.}}
248
00:10:31,600 –> 00:10:34,735
Não, é muito estranho de repente não teres a camisola.
{{No, it’s very strange that you suddenly don’t have a sweater.}}
249
00:10:36,737 –> 00:10:38,405
[Ele não deveria ficar com a camisola dele?]
{{Shouldn’t he keep his sweater?}}
250
00:10:38,505 –> 00:10:39,991
Não, estou cheio de calor.
{{No, I’m hot.}}
251
00:10:39,991 –> 00:10:40,970
[Agora é estranho,
{{Now it’s strange,}}
252
00:10:40,970 –> 00:10:42,420
agora não tens mais a camisola.]
{{now you don’t have the sweater anymore.}}
253
00:10:42,643 –> 00:10:44,778
Comecei com a camisola,
{{I started with the sweater,}}
254
00:10:44,978 –> 00:10:46,780
e isso já é suficiente.
{{and that’s enough.}}
255
00:10:46,780 –> 00:10:48,114
Se quiseres usar a minha camisola…
{{If you want to wear my sweater…}}
256
00:10:48,115 –> 00:10:49,049
Duas?
{{Two?}}
257
00:10:49,049 –> 00:10:50,517
Duas, para compensar.
{{Two, to make up for it.}}
258
00:10:56,823 –> 00:10:58,125
Põe o chapéu.
{{Put the hat on.}}
259
00:10:59,793 –> 00:11:01,662
As meninas ali a rirem-se.
{{The girls stand there laughing.}}
260
00:11:01,795 –> 00:11:03,030
Ninguém quer ver isso.
{{Nobody wants to see that.}}
261
00:11:03,030 –> 00:11:04,765
Vamos perder tantos membros.
{{We’re going to lose so many members.}}
262
00:11:06,080 –> 00:11:09,703
[A] próxima pergunta da Grace foi,
{{Grace’s next question was,}}
263
00:11:09,703 –> 00:11:12,673
qual é a nossa tradição de Natal preferida.
{{what’s our favourite Christmas tradition.}}
264
00:11:13,273 –> 00:11:16,760
A minha é…
{{Mine is…}}
265
00:11:17,177 –> 00:11:19,558
[No] vídeo de ontem, eu disse que era
{{In yesterday’s video, I said it was}}
266
00:11:19,758 –> 00:11:21,782
decorar a árvore de Natal com as meninas,
{{decorating the Christmas tree with the girls,}}
267
00:11:21,782 –> 00:11:24,080
mas eu não sei se essa é a minha tradição preferida.
{{but I don’t know if that’s my favourite tradition.}}
268
00:11:24,080 –> 00:11:24,985
Então mentiste?
{{So you lied?}}
269
00:11:25,400 –> 00:11:27,988
Menti, achava que ficava melhor no vídeo.
{{I lied, I thought it would look better in the video.}}
270
00:11:28,000 –> 00:11:30,120
É beber tequila, é a tua tradição.
{{It’s drinking tequila, it’s your tradition.}}
271
00:11:30,120 –> 00:11:32,259
A minha tradição preferida é
{{My favourite tradition is}}
272
00:11:32,259 –> 00:11:35,400
ver a cara das pessoas quando abrem as prendas
{{seeing people’s faces when they open the gifts}}
273
00:11:35,400 –> 00:11:36,864
que eu escolhi para elas.
{{that I’ve chosen for them.}}
274
00:11:36,864 –> 00:11:37,798
Ah, boa!
{{Ah, good!}}
275
00:11:38,999 –> 00:11:40,000
Isso é muito bom.
{{That’s very good.}}
276
00:11:40,000 –> 00:11:41,668
Sim, é comprar a prenda,
{{Yes, it’s buying the gift,}}
277
00:11:41,668 –> 00:11:43,604
pensar na prenda, comprar a prenda
{{thinking about the gift, buying the gift,}}
278
00:11:43,604 –> 00:11:45,506
e depois ver a pessoa [abri-la],
{{and then seeing the person open it,}}
279
00:11:45,506 –> 00:11:46,673
e ficar feliz.
{{and getting happy.}}
280
00:11:46,680 –> 00:11:49,009
E quantas prendas já compraste este ano?
{{And how many presents have you bought this year?}}
281
00:11:50,520 –> 00:11:52,145
Ai, olha, isso por acaso…
{{Ah, look, that’s actually…}}
282
00:11:52,145 –> 00:11:53,440
Temos trabalho para fazer.
{{We have work to do.}}
283
00:11:53,440 –> 00:11:55,249
Ainda não comprei assim muitas prendas.
{{I haven’t bought many presents yet.}}
284
00:11:55,249 –> 00:11:57,885
Comprámos [as] das meninas só.
{{We only bought those for the girls.}}
285
00:11:58,986 –> 00:12:02,080
Porque é que eu tinha uma cana de…
{{Why did I have a cane…}}
286
00:12:02,080 –> 00:12:04,591
uma bengala do Natal?
{{a “Christmas cane”?}}
287
00:12:05,000 –> 00:12:06,026
Uma bengala doce.
{{A candy cane.}}
288
00:12:06,026 –> 00:12:10,130
Bengala doce, embalada, dentro de água.
{{Candy cane, wrapped, in water.}}
289
00:12:11,064 –> 00:12:12,533
A nossa equipa de props
{{Our props team}}
290
00:12:12,533 –> 00:12:14,968
tem que melhorar o seu trabalho, não é?
{{has to improve their work, don’t they?}}
291
00:12:15,435 –> 00:12:17,760
E tu, qual é a tua tradição preferida?
{{What’s your favourite tradition?}}
292
00:12:17,760 –> 00:12:19,072
É gravar este vídeo.
{{It’s recording this video.}}
293
00:12:19,560 –> 00:12:21,275
Não foi o que tu disseste ontem no vídeo.
{{That’s not what you said in the video yesterday.}}
294
00:12:21,280 –> 00:12:22,442
Não me lembro [do] que eu disse.
{{I don’t remember what I said.}}
295
00:12:22,910 –> 00:12:25,746
Todos os natais, cada natal é melhor que o outro.
{{Every Christmas, every Christmas is better than the other.}}
296
00:12:25,746 –> 00:12:26,880
Não, isso é outra pergunta.
{{No, that’s another question.}}
297
00:12:26,880 –> 00:12:27,520
Ah, é outra pergunta.
{{Ah, that’s another question.}}
298
00:12:28,800 –> 00:12:31,585
Ah, é ouvir música [de] Natal,
{{Ah, it’s listening to Christmas music,}}
299
00:12:31,585 –> 00:12:34,154
mas não é música qualquer [de] Natal,
{{but not just any Christmas music,}}
300
00:12:34,154 –> 00:12:37,057
é música [da minha playlist] que se chama…
{{it’s music from my playlist called…}}
301
00:12:38,992 –> 00:12:41,920
Joel’s Approved Christmas Playlist.
{{Joel’s Approved Christmas Playlist.}}
302
00:12:41,920 –> 00:12:44,565
Porque eu não aguento toda a música de Natal,
{{Because I can’t stand all the Christmas music,}}
303
00:12:44,565 –> 00:12:45,960
aquela música…
{{that music…}}
304
00:12:45,960 –> 00:12:46,440
Mariah Carey.
{{Mariah Carey.}}
305
00:12:46,440 –> 00:12:48,800
“Let them know it’s Christmas time.”
{{“Let them know it’s Christmas time.”}}
306
00:12:49,840 –> 00:12:51,104
Ou…
{{Or…}}
307
00:12:52,080 –> 00:12:53,200
Ya, Mariah Carey.
{{Yeah, Mariah Carey.}}
308
00:12:53,207 –> 00:12:55,375
Aquelas que se ouve em todo lado.
{{The kind you hear everywhere.}}
309
00:12:55,375 –> 00:12:59,713
Eu preciso de ouvir a minha música de Natal.
{{I need to hear my Christmas music.}}
310
00:13:00,400 –> 00:13:01,915
Estamos a falar de…
{{We’re talking about…}}
311
00:13:02,560 –> 00:13:04,818
Sim, Diana Krall, Michael Bublé.
{{Yes, Diana Krall, Michael Bublé.}}
312
00:13:04,818 –> 00:13:06,353
Oh, eu acho que ninguém perguntou.
{{Oh, I don’t think anyone asked.}}
313
00:13:06,353 –> 00:13:10,257
Robert Glasper, algumas versões em jazz,
{{Robert Glasper, some jazz versions,}}
314
00:13:10,257 –> 00:13:12,226
algumas versões cubanas.
{{some Cuban versions.}}
315
00:13:12,459 –> 00:13:15,098
Então, eu não sei se [a minha] playlist é [pública],
{{So, I don’t know if my playlist is public,}}
316
00:13:15,098 –> 00:13:16,864
mas vocês podem tentar pesquisar.
{{but you can try searching.}}
317
00:13:16,864 –> 00:13:18,760
Joel Approved Christmas.
{{Joel Approved Christmas.}}
318
00:13:18,760 –> 00:13:22,369
Joel Approved Christmas, [anúncio], [no Spotify]
{{Joel Approved Christmas, plug, on Spotify}}
319
00:13:24,872 –> 00:13:25,672
Já está?
{{Is it up yet?}}
320
00:13:25,672 –> 00:13:27,774
Ok, próxima pergunta.
{{Ok, next question.}}
321
00:13:28,775 –> 00:13:30,777
Agora é o David.
{{Now it’s David.}}
322
00:13:31,411 –> 00:13:33,347
Mas eu acho que David é o nome
{{But I think David is the name}}
323
00:13:34,114 –> 00:13:37,184
do pai destas crianças.
{{of the father of these children.}}
324
00:13:37,384 –> 00:13:39,653
Tu gostas de Minecraft?
{{Do you like Minecraft?}}
325
00:13:39,653 –> 00:13:41,755
Olá, Joel e Rui.
{{Hello, Joel and Rui.}}
326
00:13:41,955 –> 00:13:45,292
Qual é a [vossa] comida preferida de Natal?
{{What’s your favourite Christmas food?}}
327
00:13:45,392 –> 00:13:46,559
Obrigado!
{{Thank you!}}
328
00:13:50,430 –> 00:13:52,566
Então, temos aqui dois senhores muito crescidos,
{{So, we have two very grown-up gentlemen here,}}
329
00:13:52,566 –> 00:13:54,434
e duas perguntas muito boas.
{{and two very good questions.}}
330
00:13:54,520 –> 00:13:57,304
A primeira é se gostamos de Minecraft.
{{The first is whether we like Minecraft.}}
331
00:13:57,640 –> 00:13:59,139
Eu joguei uma vez,
{{I played it once,}}
332
00:13:59,139 –> 00:14:02,800
mas não fiquei muito interessado.
{{but I wasn’t very interested.}}
333
00:14:02,800 –> 00:14:07,047
Se calhar não explorei o suficiente, não adorei.
{{Maybe I didn’t explore it enough, I didn’t love it.}}
334
00:14:07,047 –> 00:14:08,880
Tu já experimentaste Minecraft?
{{Have you ever tried Minecraft?}}
335
00:14:08,882 –> 00:14:11,051
Só naquela altura em que tu experimentaste.
{{Only when you did.}}
336
00:14:11,051 –> 00:14:12,486
Ok. E o que achaste?
{{Ok. And what did you think?}}
337
00:14:12,486 –> 00:14:13,820
Eu achei engraçado.
{{I thought it was funny.}}
338
00:14:13,887 –> 00:14:17,157
E acho que é educativo, pelo que eu [percebi].
{{And I think it’s educational, from what I understood.}}
339
00:14:17,224 –> 00:14:20,727
E qual é a tua comida preferida de Natal?
{{What’s your favourite Christmas food?}}
340
00:14:20,880 –> 00:14:23,030
Sidra, de maçã.
{{Apple cider.}}
341
00:14:23,040 –> 00:14:24,064
Não é eggnog?
{{Isn’t that eggnog?}}
342
00:14:24,120 –> 00:14:24,920
E eggnog!
{{And eggnog!}}
343
00:14:24,920 –> 00:14:25,666
Ah, eu sabia!
{{Ah, I knew it!}}
344
00:14:25,666 –> 00:14:27,401
Estamos a mudar as nossas respostas [de] ontem,
{{We’re changing our answers from yesterday,}}
345
00:14:27,401 –> 00:14:30,137
só para ficar mais [fresco].
{{just to be more fresh.}}
346
00:14:30,237 –> 00:14:33,607
A minha comida preferida de Natal é bolo-rei.
{{My favourite Christmas food is king cake.}}
347
00:14:33,840 –> 00:14:36,276
Bolo-rei é diferente de bolo-rainha.
{{King cake is different from queen cake.}}
348
00:14:36,280 –> 00:14:38,378
Bolo-rei tem fruta cristalizada,
{{King cake has candied fruit,}}
349
00:14:38,946 –> 00:14:41,715
bolo-rainha só tem frutos secos.
{{queen cake only has nuts.}}
350
00:14:41,915 –> 00:14:43,283
Próximo vídeo.
{{Next video.}}
351
00:14:43,960 –> 00:14:44,751
Jenny.
{{Jenny.}}
352
00:14:46,153 –> 00:14:48,021
Olá, Joel e Rui.
{{Hello, Joel and Rui.}}
353
00:14:48,021 –> 00:14:49,323
Feliz Natal.
{{Merry Christmas.}}
354
00:14:50,280 –> 00:14:52,125
[Fala a Jenny.]
{{This is Jenny speaking.}}
355
00:14:53,460 –> 00:14:58,298
[No aeroporto do Porto, a caminho de Londres.]
{{At Porto airport, on the way to London.}}
356
00:14:59,600 –> 00:15:05,506
[Falem-me do melhor Natal que já tiveram.]
{{Tell me about the best Christmas you’ve ever had.}}
357
00:15:06,920 –> 00:15:09,176
Qual o melhor Natal que tivemos?
{{What’s the best Christmas we’ve ever had?}}
358
00:15:09,240 –> 00:15:11,211
Obrigado pela pergunta, Jenny.
{{Thank you for the question, Jenny.}}
359
00:15:11,411 –> 00:15:15,040
Espero que tenhas tido um voo tranquilo até Londres.
{{I hope you had a smooth flight to London.}}
360
00:15:15,040 –> 00:15:16,817
A ver os nossos vídeos na TAP.
{{Watching our videos on TAP.}}
361
00:15:18,085 –> 00:15:19,620
Qual é o melhor Natal?
{{What’s the best Christmas?}}
362
00:15:19,800 –> 00:15:21,555
Eu lembro-me muito bem de um Natal,
{{I remember one Christmas very well,}}
363
00:15:21,555 –> 00:15:22,789
de quando eu era criança,
{{from when I was a child,}}
364
00:15:22,789 –> 00:15:25,192
e recebi uma única prenda,
{{and I received just one present,}}
365
00:15:25,192 –> 00:15:26,426
que foi uma bicicleta.
{{which was a bicycle.}}
366
00:15:26,440 –> 00:15:28,862
E acho que foi a primeira vez que tive uma bicicleta,
{{And I think it was the first time I had a bicycle,}}
367
00:15:28,862 –> 00:15:30,197
e nunca vou esquecer.
{{and I’ll never forget it.}}
368
00:15:30,320 –> 00:15:31,302
E tive outro Natal,
{{And I had another Christmas,}}
369
00:15:31,302 –> 00:15:33,685
[em] que recebi um skate das Tartarugas Ninja,
{{when I got a Ninja Turtles skateboard,}}
370
00:15:33,685 –> 00:15:35,335
[que] também nunca vou esquecer.
{{which I’ll never forget either.}}
371
00:15:36,670 –> 00:15:38,060
Posso fazer uma pergunta?
{{Can I ask you a question?}}
372
00:15:39,373 –> 00:15:41,909
Naquele Natal da bicicleta,
{{That Christmas with the bicycle,}}
373
00:15:42,142 –> 00:15:43,644
disseste que não recebeste mais nada,
{{you said you didn’t get anything else,}}
374
00:15:43,644 –> 00:15:45,646
os teus avós não te deram nada,
{{your grandparents didn’t give you anything,}}
375
00:15:45,647 –> 00:15:47,748
os teus amigos não te deram nada…
{{your friends didn’t give you anything…}}
376
00:15:48,015 –> 00:15:49,917
Só uma prenda dos teus pais e pronto?
{{Just a present from your parents and that’s it?}}
377
00:15:49,917 –> 00:15:51,652
Mas eu acho que eles tiveram que se juntar,
{{But I think they had to get together,}}
378
00:15:51,652 –> 00:15:53,654
porque nós não tínhamos muito dinheiro,
{{because we didn’t have much money,}}
379
00:15:53,840 –> 00:15:56,924
e eles juntaram-se, os meus avós e os meus pais,
{{and they got together, my grandparents and my parents,}}
380
00:15:56,924 –> 00:15:58,625
para-me oferecer aquela prenda.
{{to give me that gift.}}
381
00:15:58,840 –> 00:16:00,894
Qual foi o teu melhor Natal?
{{What was your best Christmas?}}
382
00:16:01,320 –> 00:16:02,462
O meu melhor Natal
{{My best Christmas}}
383
00:16:02,462 –> 00:16:04,157
é o Natal mais recente.
{{is the most recent Christmas.}}
384
00:16:04,157 –> 00:16:05,399
Todos os anos,
{{Every year,}}
385
00:16:05,566 –> 00:16:09,403
eu acho que, à medida que as nossas meninas crescem,
{{I find that as our girls grow up,}}
386
00:16:09,870 –> 00:16:13,440
elas ficam cada vez mais interessadas no Natal.
{{they become more and more interested in Christmas.}}
387
00:16:14,480 –> 00:16:16,810
Tem mais magia.
{{It has more magic.}}
388
00:16:16,944 –> 00:16:19,847
Porque eu acho que, às vezes, o Natal sem crianças
{{Because I think that sometimes Christmas without children}}
389
00:16:19,847 –> 00:16:23,083
acaba por ser um bocadinho [estranho], obrigatório.
{{ends up being a bit awkward, obligatory.}}
390
00:16:23,320 –> 00:16:24,284
E é isso.
{{That’s it.}}
391
00:16:24,840 –> 00:16:26,987
A melhor prenda que eu [me lembro]
{{The best present I remember}}
392
00:16:26,987 –> 00:16:29,440
de ter recebido em criança [foi] um…
{{receiving as a child was a…}}
393
00:16:29,523 –> 00:16:30,000
Como se diz?
{{How do you say it?}}
394
00:16:30,000 –> 00:16:31,959
Um “dalmáto”? “Dalmatian”?
{{A Dalmatian?}}
395
00:16:32,160 –> 00:16:32,860
Um dálmata.
{{A Dalmatian.}}
396
00:16:32,920 –> 00:16:34,161
Dálmata?
{{Dalmatian?}}
397
00:16:34,161 –> 00:16:35,162
Dálmata.
{{Dalmatian.}}
398
00:16:35,162 –> 00:16:39,680
Dálmata com um pau para…
{{Dalmatian with a stick for…}}
399
00:16:39,800 –> 00:16:40,834
Com uma pega.
{{With a handle.}}
400
00:16:40,834 –> 00:16:42,236
Uma pega, [sim].
{{A handle, yes.}}
401
00:16:42,240 –> 00:16:43,040
Para caminhar o dálmata?
{{For the Dalmatian to walk?}}
402
00:16:43,040 –> 00:16:43,920
Sim, para ele andar.
{{Yes, for him to walk.}}
403
00:16:43,920 –> 00:16:45,906
Como aquela coisa que a nossa filha tem,
{{Like that thing our daughter has,}}
404
00:16:46,006 –> 00:16:46,874
mas [o dela] é um unicórnio.
{{but hers is a unicorn.}}
405
00:16:46,874 –> 00:16:48,100
Mas era de que tamanho?
{{But how big was it?}}
406
00:16:50,277 –> 00:16:51,979
E fazia barulho?
{{And did it make noise?}}
407
00:16:53,520 –> 00:16:55,880
Eu acho que a cauda abanava,
{{I think its tail wagged,}}
408
00:16:55,880 –> 00:16:57,784
Oh, que fofinho.
{{Oh, how cute.}}
409
00:16:58,452 –> 00:17:00,287
Agora, Freya.
{{Now, Freya.}}
410
00:17:00,487 –> 00:17:01,288
Freya.
{{Freya.}}
411
00:17:01,800 –> 00:17:03,490
Olá, Joel e Rui.
{{Hello, Joel and Rui.}}
412
00:17:03,640 –> 00:17:04,958
Chamo-me Freya.
{{My name is Freya.}}
413
00:17:05,025 –> 00:17:07,227
Moro [na] África do Sul.
{{I live in South Africa.}}
414
00:17:07,628 –> 00:17:09,463
Esta [é] a minha pergunta.
{{This is my question.}}
415
00:17:09,840 –> 00:17:13,200
Qual é a palavra portuguesa mais feliz?
{{What is the happiest Portuguese word?}}
416
00:17:13,267 –> 00:17:14,301
E porquê?
{{And why?}}
417
00:17:14,960 –> 00:17:16,203
Felicíssimo.
{{Very happy.}}
418
00:17:16,600 –> 00:17:17,671
Felicíssimo.
{{Very happy.}}
419
00:17:17,671 –> 00:17:19,506
É literalmente a palavra mais feliz.
{{It’s literally the happiest word.}}
420
00:17:19,506 –> 00:17:21,708
Nós temos um amigo que se chama Felicíssimo.
{{We have a friend called Felicissimo.}}
421
00:17:21,720 –> 00:17:24,278
E outro amigo que é Tristão.
{{And another friend who is Tristan. (similar to triste – sad)}}
422
00:17:24,600 –> 00:17:25,400
Então o Tristão…
{{So Tristan…}}
423
00:17:25,400 –> 00:17:27,814
Tristão e Felicíssimo.
{{Tristan and Felicissimo.}}
424
00:17:28,682 –> 00:17:30,880
O Tristão vai jantar com o Felicíssimo.
{{Tristan goes to dinner with Felicissimo.}}
425
00:17:31,440 –> 00:17:33,353
A pergunta da Freya.
{{Freya’s question.}}
426
00:17:33,880 –> 00:17:36,790
Qual é para ti a palavra mais feliz?
{{What do you think is the happiest word?}}
427
00:17:37,591 –> 00:17:39,626
Quando as pessoas perguntam
{{When people ask}}
428
00:17:39,626 –> 00:17:41,795
como é que eu estou naquele dia,
{{how I’m doing that day,}}
429
00:17:41,929 –> 00:17:43,630
eu digo sempre, “Fantástico!”
{{I always say, ‘Fantastic!’}}
430
00:17:44,040 –> 00:17:45,032
E não sei porquê,
{{And I don’t know why,}}
431
00:17:45,132 –> 00:17:47,601
porque não é uma palavra muito frequente
{{because it’s not a very common word}}
432
00:17:47,626 –> 00:17:50,270
para vocês usarem em resposta [a] “como estás?”.
{{for you to use in response to ‘how are you?}}
433
00:17:50,560 –> 00:17:52,206
Mas eu gosto de dizer “fantástico”,
{{But I like to say ‘fantastic’,}}
434
00:17:52,206 –> 00:17:55,876
então essa é a minha resposta para hoje.
{{so that’s my answer for today.}}
435
00:17:56,240 –> 00:18:00,214
Eu gosto de palavras que são divertidas de dizer,
{{I like words that are fun to say,}}
436
00:18:00,400 –> 00:18:01,840
então elas fazem-me sorrir.
{{so they make me smile.}}
437
00:18:01,840 –> 00:18:04,351
Tipo “jola”, que é uma cerveja.
{{Like ‘jola’, which is a beer.}}
438
00:18:04,351 –> 00:18:05,419
Saltitar.
{{To hop.}}
439
00:18:05,853 –> 00:18:06,820
Saltitar.
{{To hop.}}
440
00:18:06,887 –> 00:18:08,856
É uma palavra, que só de dizer a palavra,
{{It’s a word, it’s just saying the word,}}
441
00:18:08,856 –> 00:18:10,424
já fico feliz.
{{makes me happy.}}
442
00:18:10,440 –> 00:18:10,791
Ok.
{{Ok.}}
443
00:18:11,040 –> 00:18:12,659
Agora é [a] Liz.
{{Now it’s Liz.}}
444
00:18:12,960 –> 00:18:14,528
Olá, Joel, Rui
{{Hello, Joel, Rui}}
445
00:18:14,528 –> 00:18:17,965
[e toda a equipa do Practice Portuguese].
{{and the whole Practice Portuguese team.}}
446
00:18:18,080 –> 00:18:22,336
Chamo-me Liz e sou de Sheffield, Inglaterra.
{{I’m Liz and I’m from Sheffield, England.}}
447
00:18:22,760 –> 00:18:24,271
A minha pergunta…
{{My question…}}
448
00:18:24,760 –> 00:18:27,808
[A calçada em Portugal] é bonita,
{{The sidewalk in Portugal is beautiful,}}
449
00:18:27,808 –> 00:18:34,548
mas eu quero saber [qual é o nome para “pavements”]
{{but I want to know what is the name for ‘pavements’}}
450
00:18:34,548 –> 00:18:37,985
ou, desculpe Joel, [passeios],
{{or, sorry Joel, sidewalks,}}
451
00:18:38,400 –> 00:18:42,523
que não são feitos de pedra decorativa?
{{which are not made of decorative stone?}}
452
00:18:44,324 –> 00:18:46,159
Diga-me, [se] faz favor.
{{Tell me, please.}}
453
00:18:46,520 –> 00:18:48,595
Obrigada e feliz Natal!
{{Thank you and Merry Christmas!}}
454
00:18:49,240 –> 00:18:50,697
Então, Joel,
{{So, Joel,}}
455
00:18:50,697 –> 00:18:53,100
sabes qual é a palavra portuguesa para “sidewalk”,
{{do you know what the Portuguese word for ‘sidewalk’ is,}}
456
00:18:53,100 –> 00:18:54,368
de uma forma geral?
{{in general?}}
457
00:18:55,320 –> 00:18:57,104
Sim, porque falámos disso recentemente.
{{Yes, because we talked about it recently.}}
458
00:18:57,104 –> 00:18:58,338
É “passeio”.
{{It’s ‘sidewalk’.}}
459
00:18:58,800 –> 00:18:59,840
Passeio.
{{Sidewalk.}}
460
00:19:00,107 –> 00:19:02,142
Pode ser a palavra para “sidewalk”
{{It could be the word for ‘sidewalk’}}
461
00:19:02,142 –> 00:19:04,978
ou para, “I’m going for a walk.”
{{or for, ‘I’m going for a walk.’}}
462
00:19:04,978 –> 00:19:06,780
Vou dar um passeio.
{{I’m going for a walk.}}
463
00:19:06,980 –> 00:19:09,816
Vou dar um passeio no passeio.
{{I’m going for a walk on the sidewalk.}}
464
00:19:10,360 –> 00:19:12,019
Sim, é a palavra geral.
{{Yes, that’s the general word.}}
465
00:19:12,019 –> 00:19:16,890
E às vezes o passeio é feito com calçada portuguesa,
{{And sometimes the sidewalk is made with Portuguese sidewalk,}}
466
00:19:16,890 –> 00:19:20,627
que é aquela pedra branca feita de calcário
{{which is that white stone made of limestone}}
467
00:19:20,627 –> 00:19:23,730
e que pode ser também basalto, pedra preta.
{{and which can also be basalt, black stone.}}
468
00:19:23,730 –> 00:19:25,532
E quando é usada a pedra preta
{{And when black stone is used}}
469
00:19:25,532 –> 00:19:27,100
fazem-se padrões
{{patterns are made}}
470
00:19:27,601 –> 00:19:31,205
e fazem-se calçadas mais decorativas,
{{and more decorative sidewalks are made,}}
471
00:19:31,438 –> 00:19:32,406
mas, a maioria das vezes,
{{but most of the time,}}
472
00:19:32,406 –> 00:19:34,374
o passeio é feito só com a pedra branca,
{{the sidewalk is made only with white stone,}}
473
00:19:34,374 –> 00:19:35,943
só com calçada portuguesa.
{{only with Portuguese sidewalk.}}
474
00:19:36,643 –> 00:19:38,779
É uma pergunta muito boa, por acaso.
{{It’s a very good question, actually.}}
475
00:19:38,946 –> 00:19:40,414
E há pessoas aqui no fundo
{{And there are people down here}}
476
00:19:40,414 –> 00:19:41,982
que estão a andar no passeio.
{{who are walking on the sidewalk.}}
477
00:19:42,516 –> 00:19:44,585
Lucyna!
{{Lucyna!}}
478
00:19:44,852 –> 00:19:48,455
Olá, sou Lucyna da Polónia.
{{Hello, I’m Lucyna from Poland.}}
479
00:19:48,840 –> 00:19:52,459
Já estive várias vezes em Portugal
{{I’ve been to Portugal several times}}
480
00:19:52,459 –> 00:19:56,964
e sou fascinada pelo vosso país.
{{and I’m fascinated by your country.}}
481
00:19:57,400 –> 00:20:02,102
Gostaria de saber como [são os portugueses.]
{{I would like to know what the Portuguese are like.}}
482
00:20:02,536 –> 00:20:04,605
Poderiam-me referir
{{Could you tell me}}
483
00:20:04,605 –> 00:20:07,774
algumas características nacionais,
{{some of the national characteristics}}
484
00:20:07,908 –> 00:20:10,677
dos portugueses? Obrigada!
{{of the Portuguese? Thank you!}}
485
00:20:10,680 –> 00:20:11,879
Então, eu falo.
{{So, I’ll talk.}}
486
00:20:12,513 –> 00:20:18,118
Somos bonitos, somos engraçados,
{{We’re beautiful, we’re funny,}}
487
00:20:18,218 –> 00:20:20,821
somos inteligentes,
{{we’re intelligent,}}
488
00:20:21,154 –> 00:20:26,059
empreendedores, lutadores, guerreiros.
{{entrepreneurs, fighters, warriors.}}
489
00:20:26,894 –> 00:20:29,429
Somos um povo sem medo.
{{We are a people without fear.}}
490
00:20:30,631 –> 00:20:32,366
Com colhões de aço.
{{With balls of steel.}}
491
00:20:32,366 –> 00:20:33,500
Ó meu Deus!
{{Oh my God!}}
492
00:20:34,668 –> 00:20:40,140
Somos hospitaleiros, cordiais.
{{We are cordial and hospitable.}}
493
00:20:40,400 –> 00:20:42,242
Ok, agora a resposta verdadeira.
{{Ok, now for the real answer.}}
494
00:20:43,076 –> 00:20:44,811
Então, acolhemos bem.
{{So, we are welcoming.}}
495
00:20:44,920 –> 00:20:45,440
Sim.
{{Yes.}}
496
00:20:45,440 –> 00:20:46,647
Gostamos de turistas,
{{We like tourists,}}
497
00:20:46,647 –> 00:20:49,650
[esforçamo-nos] para falar a língua dos turistas.
{{we strive to speak the language of tourists.}}
498
00:20:49,920 –> 00:20:53,654
Gostamos muito de comer em família,
{{We like to eat as a family,}}
499
00:20:53,655 –> 00:20:57,758
damos muita importância a reuniões familiares.
{{we attach great importance to family gatherings.}}
500
00:20:57,958 –> 00:21:00,054
Também somos conhecidos por pôr
{{We’re also known for putting}}
501
00:21:00,194 –> 00:21:02,529
tudo o que temos em casa na mesa.
{{everything we have at home on the table.}}
502
00:21:02,629 –> 00:21:04,198
Se recebemos alguém,
{{If we have someone over,}}
503
00:21:05,360 –> 00:21:08,435
pomos a dispensa inteira na mesa.
{{we put the entire pantry on the table.}}
504
00:21:08,520 –> 00:21:11,004
Então gostamos de impressionar com aquilo que temos,
{{So we like to impress with what we have,}}
505
00:21:11,004 –> 00:21:14,007
que é a simpatia e a comida.
{{which is friendliness and food.}}
506
00:21:14,408 –> 00:21:19,046
Agora, Anna e Stefan, de Estugarda.
{{Now, Anna and Stefan, from Stuttgart.}}
507
00:21:19,379 –> 00:21:20,113
Estugarda.
{{Stuttgart.}}
508
00:21:20,113 –> 00:21:21,815
Alemanha, Stuttgart.
{{Germany, Stuttgart.}}
509
00:21:22,216 –> 00:21:23,317
Olá, Rui!
{{Hello, Rui!}}
510
00:21:23,320 –> 00:21:24,418
Olá, Joel!
{{Hello, Joel!}}
511
00:21:24,640 –> 00:21:25,786
Chamo-me Anna.
{{My name is Anna.}}
512
00:21:25,786 –> 00:21:27,855
E eu sou o Stefan.
{{And I’m Stefan.}}
513
00:21:27,921 –> 00:21:30,891
Moramos em [Estugarda], [na] Alemanha.
{{We live in Stuttgart, in Germany.}}
514
00:21:31,091 –> 00:21:33,193
Nós temos duas perguntas,
{{We have two questions,}}
515
00:21:33,560 –> 00:21:35,896
porque nós somos duas pessoas.
{{because we are two people.}}
516
00:21:36,697 –> 00:21:39,833
É possível [fazer] um chat ao vivo,
{{Is it possible to do a live chat,}}
517
00:21:39,967 –> 00:21:43,036
para que possamos praticar a conversação?
{{so we can practice talking?}}
518
00:21:43,160 –> 00:21:45,772
E é possível que a Smart Review
{{And is it possible for Smart Review}}
519
00:21:45,772 –> 00:21:50,177
[nos pergunte] o vocabulário “Mastered”?
{{to ask us the ‘Mastered’ vocabulary?}}
520
00:21:50,711 –> 00:21:51,778
Boa festa!
{{Good party!}}
521
00:21:51,778 –> 00:21:52,913
E tchau!
{{And bye!}}
522
00:21:54,047 –> 00:21:57,184
Joel, o Smart Review pergunta
{{Joel, the Smart Review asks}}
523
00:21:57,484 –> 00:22:00,240
o vocabulário que está marcado como “Mastered”?
{{the vocabulary that is marked as ‘Mastered’?}}
524
00:22:00,240 –> 00:22:00,754
Não.
{{No.}}
525
00:22:01,255 –> 00:22:02,155
Como está “Mastered”,
{{As it is ‘Mastered’,}}
526
00:22:02,155 –> 00:22:04,358
já não aparece no vosso Smart Review.
{{it no longer appears in your Smart Review.}}
527
00:22:04,691 –> 00:22:05,959
E para quem não sabe,
{{And for those who don’t know,}}
528
00:22:05,959 –> 00:22:09,796
Smart Review é a função da nossa app
{{Smart Review is the function of our app}}
529
00:22:09,796 –> 00:22:13,099
que vos permite praticar muito vocabulário
{{that allows you to practice a lot of vocabulary}}
530
00:22:13,099 –> 00:22:14,501
de uma maneira rápida.
{{in a quick way.}}
531
00:22:14,902 –> 00:22:16,939
Então, como é que tu podes
{{So, how can you}}
532
00:22:17,139 –> 00:22:19,840
praticar o vocabulário “Mastered”?
{{practice ‘Mastered’ vocabulary?}}
533
00:22:20,160 –> 00:22:22,943
Podes ir ao “Manage Phrases”
{{You can go to ‘Manage Phrases’}}
534
00:22:22,943 –> 00:22:25,492
e selecionar aquelas [frases] que queres praticar
{{and select those phrases that you want to practice}}
535
00:22:25,692 –> 00:22:27,347
dentro da secção de “Mastered”,
{{within the ‘Mastered’ section,}}
536
00:22:27,347 –> 00:22:30,217
e podes lançar uma sessão personalizada.
{{and you can launch a personalized session.}}
537
00:22:30,280 –> 00:22:30,717
Ok.
{{Ok.}}
538
00:22:31,185 –> 00:22:34,188
E a nossa aplicação já tem um chat
{{And our app already has a chat}}
539
00:22:34,254 –> 00:22:36,480
para praticarem ao vivo?
{{for you to practice live?}}
540
00:22:36,480 –> 00:22:38,025
Não, isso é uma boa ideia.
{{No, that’s a good idea.}}
541
00:22:38,025 –> 00:22:39,793
Eu não sei se, Anna,
{{I don’t know if, Anna,}}
542
00:22:39,793 –> 00:22:43,664
querias dizer “chat”, tipo com inteligência artificial
{{you mean ‘chat’, like with artificial intelligence}}
543
00:22:43,664 –> 00:22:45,232
ou com pessoas verdadeiras.
{{or with real people.}}
544
00:22:45,666 –> 00:22:47,201
Mas, de qualquer maneira,
{{But anyway,}}
545
00:22:47,201 –> 00:22:49,636
é uma função que nós não temos,
{{it’s a function we don’t have,}}
546
00:22:49,636 –> 00:22:52,039
porque somos uma equipa pequena
{{because we’re a small team}}
547
00:22:52,039 –> 00:22:55,909
e não temos tempo para falar com pessoas ao vivo.
{{and we don’t have time to talk to people live.}}
548
00:22:56,076 –> 00:22:57,344
Ainda!
{{Still!}}
549
00:22:57,344 –> 00:22:59,446
Mas temos o nosso fórum,
{{But we have our forum,}}
550
00:22:59,446 –> 00:23:04,718
onde as pessoas podem conversar [assincronamente].
{{where people can chat asynchronously.}}
551
00:23:05,252 –> 00:23:07,020
De forma assíncrona,
{{Asynchronously,}}
552
00:23:07,036 –> 00:23:09,723
podem deixar uma mensagem para alguém
{{they can leave a message for someone}}
553
00:23:09,723 –> 00:23:11,658
e alguém do fórum responde,
{{and someone from the forum replies,}}
554
00:23:11,658 –> 00:23:13,093
e depois respondem.
{{and then they reply.}}
555
00:23:13,320 –> 00:23:15,529
Então não é tão instantâneo,
{{So it’s not as instant,}}
556
00:23:15,529 –> 00:23:17,531
mas ainda dá para tirar dúvidas.
{{but you can still ask questions.}}
557
00:23:17,640 –> 00:23:19,399
Mas, no futuro, é uma boa ideia,
{{But in the future it’s a good idea,}}
558
00:23:19,400 –> 00:23:20,701
é uma boa forma de praticar.
{{it’s a good way to practice.}}
559
00:23:20,760 –> 00:23:23,933
A Anna também gravou um vídeo em Estugarda
{{Anna also recorded a video in Stuttgart}}
560
00:23:23,933 –> 00:23:28,041
a dizer que a nossa app é a melhor de todas
{{saying that our app is the best of all}}
561
00:23:28,041 –> 00:23:30,110
e que permite estudar e ouvir português
{{and that it allows you to study and listen to Portuguese}}
562
00:23:30,110 –> 00:23:31,745
em qualquer lado.
{{anywhere.}}
563
00:23:31,745 –> 00:23:32,880
Obrigado, Anna!
{{Thank you, Anna!}}
564
00:23:32,880 –> 00:23:33,640
Só para dizer.
{{Just to say.}}
565
00:23:33,640 –> 00:23:34,481
Obrigado.
{{Thank you.}}
566
00:23:34,481 –> 00:23:35,816
Agora é a Mary.
{{Now it’s Mary.}}
567
00:23:36,183 –> 00:23:37,651
Vamos ouvir a Mary.
{{Let’s listen to Mary.}}
568
00:23:37,885 –> 00:23:39,653
Olá, como [estão]?
{{Hi, how are you?}}
569
00:23:40,040 –> 00:23:42,422
[Adoro o Practice Portuguese!]
{{I love Practice Portuguese!}}
570
00:23:45,993 –> 00:23:54,801
[Tenho estado a aprender português há cerca de 3 meses,
{{I’ve been learning Portuguese for about 3 months,}}
571
00:23:54,801 –> 00:23:56,303
é difícil!
{{it’s hard!}}
572
00:23:56,520 –> 00:23:59,773
A [minha] pergunta é…
{{My question is…}}
573
00:23:59,773 –> 00:24:08,081
[O ChatGPT faz boas traduções?]
{{Does ChatGPT do good translations?}}
574
00:24:08,600 –> 00:24:11,118
Ah, o ChatGPT faz boas traduções.
{{Ah, ChatGPT does good translations.}}
575
00:24:11,280 –> 00:24:12,519
Obrigado, Mary!
{{Thank you, Mary!}}
576
00:24:12,519 –> 00:24:13,253
Obrigado!
{{Thank you!}}
577
00:24:13,253 –> 00:24:14,388
E boas festas!
{{And happy holidays!}}
578
00:24:14,440 –> 00:24:16,190
Antes de respondermos à tua pergunta,
{{Before we answer your question,}}
579
00:24:16,190 –> 00:24:18,792
temos que dar-te os parabéns pelo esforço,
{{we have to congratulate you on your effort,}}
580
00:24:19,240 –> 00:24:22,229
e pela coragem de falar português
{{and on your courage to speak Portuguese}}
581
00:24:22,229 –> 00:24:23,630
ao fim de três meses.
{{after three months.}}
582
00:24:23,630 –> 00:24:26,680
É muito difícil, mesmo com a ajuda do ChatGPT.
{{It’s very difficult, even with the help of ChatGPT.}}
583
00:24:26,880 –> 00:24:27,634
Com três meses
{{With three months}}
584
00:24:27,634 –> 00:24:30,537
eu nunca teria coragem de falar
{{I would never have the courage to speak}}
585
00:24:30,537 –> 00:24:33,473
ou submeter um vídeo a falar em português.
{{or submit a video speaking in Portuguese.}}
586
00:24:33,841 –> 00:24:35,342
É preciso muita coragem.
{{It takes a lot of courage.}}
587
00:24:35,509 –> 00:24:37,840
Agora, quanto à tua pergunta,
{{Now, as for your question,}}
588
00:24:37,840 –> 00:24:40,240
se o ChatGPT faz boas traduções,
{{whether ChatGPT does good translations,}}
589
00:24:40,347 –> 00:24:45,085
eu acho que faz traduções cada vez melhores,
{{I think it does better and better translations,}}
590
00:24:45,085 –> 00:24:48,355
mas ainda falha, por exemplo,
{{but it still fails, for example,}}
591
00:24:48,355 –> 00:24:50,290
em expressões idiomáticas,
{{in idiomatic expressions,}}
592
00:24:50,290 –> 00:24:53,694
porque o ChatGPT depende da informação
{{because ChatGPT depends on the information}}
593
00:24:53,694 –> 00:24:56,029
que é colocada online.
{{that is put online.}}
594
00:24:56,363 –> 00:24:58,031
Portanto, às vezes,
{{So sometimes,}}
595
00:24:58,165 –> 00:25:00,267
nas expressões, é onde eu noto mais,
{{in the expressions, that’s where I notice it most,}}
596
00:25:00,267 –> 00:25:02,035
não há uma correspondência,
{{there’s no correspondence,}}
597
00:25:02,035 –> 00:25:04,938
há só uma tradução direta, literal,
{{there’s just a direct, literal translation,}}
598
00:25:04,938 –> 00:25:07,074
do inglês ou de outra língua.
{{from English or another language.}}
599
00:25:07,407 –> 00:25:09,443
Melhor que o ChatGPT
{{Better than ChatGPT}}
600
00:25:09,510 –> 00:25:12,946
é a função de tradução do Practice Portuguese.
{{is Practice Portuguese’s translation function.}}
601
00:25:13,747 –> 00:25:14,448
Verdade?
{{True?}}
602
00:25:14,520 –> 00:25:15,249
É verdade.
{{That’s right.}}
603
00:25:15,349 –> 00:25:17,251
Reno [e] Kei.
{{Reno and Kei.}}
604
00:25:18,118 –> 00:25:21,154
Olá, Rui e Joel.
{{Hello, Rui and Joel.}}
605
00:25:21,280 –> 00:25:24,280
Somos Kei e Reno.
{{We’re Kei and Reno.}}
606
00:25:24,958 –> 00:25:28,462
O meu marido e [eu]
{{My husband and I}}
607
00:25:28,562 –> 00:25:34,668
adoramos visitar diferentes bairros de Lisboa,
{{love to visit different neighbourhoods in Lisbon,}}
608
00:25:34,800 –> 00:25:38,105
em busca da nossa nova casa.
{{in search of our new home.}}
609
00:25:38,839 –> 00:25:46,446
E gostaríamos de saber em que bairro vivem.
{{And we’d like to know what neighbourhood you live in.}}
610
00:25:48,040 –> 00:25:53,649
Então, a minha pergunta é,
{{So my question is,}}
611
00:25:53,720 –> 00:25:56,456
há quanto tempo estão juntos?
{{how long have you been together?}}
612
00:25:57,240 –> 00:25:59,593
Obrigado.
{{Thank you.}}
613
00:26:00,000 –> 00:26:01,361
Adeus!
{{Goodbye!}}
614
00:26:01,560 –> 00:26:02,996
Adeus, obrigado pelo vídeo!
{{Goodbye, thanks for the video!}}
615
00:26:03,000 –> 00:26:04,198
Obrigado, meninos!
{{Thank you, boys!}}
616
00:26:04,200 –> 00:26:09,002
Então, nós moramos entre o bairro do Areeiro
{{So, we live between the Areeiro neighbourhood}}
617
00:26:09,002 –> 00:26:12,406
e o bairro de Alvalade, mais ou menos ali no meio.
{{and the Alvalade neighborhood, more or less in the middle.}}
618
00:26:12,880 –> 00:26:15,139
Nós não [podemos] dizer exatamente onde é,
{{We can’t say exactly where it is,}}
619
00:26:15,139 –> 00:26:18,117
porque senão os nossos fãs vão seguir-nos
{{because otherwise our fans will follow us}}
620
00:26:18,278 –> 00:26:20,247
e vão esperar-nos à porta de casa,
{{and wait for us outside our house,}}
621
00:26:20,247 –> 00:26:21,440
mas é mais ou menos aí.
{{but it’s more or less there.}}
622
00:26:21,440 –> 00:26:24,739
Gostamos do bairro porque é plano,
{{We like the neighbourhood because it’s flat,}}
623
00:26:24,939 –> 00:26:26,053
tem serviços.
{{it has services.}}
624
00:26:26,053 –> 00:26:27,688
Perto do aeroporto.
{{It’s close to the airport.}}
625
00:26:27,688 –> 00:26:28,920
Muitas lojas.
{{Many stores.}}
626
00:26:28,920 –> 00:26:32,176
Não há muito turismo comparado com lá embaixo,
{{Not much tourism compared to down there,}}
627
00:26:32,176 –> 00:26:33,120
perto do rio.
{{close to the river.}}
628
00:26:33,120 –> 00:26:34,361
Tem espaços verdes
{{There are green spaces}}
629
00:26:34,361 –> 00:26:36,630
para quem tem animais de estimação,
{{for those with pets,}}
630
00:26:36,730 –> 00:26:38,866
tem parques para crianças,
{{there are parks for children,}}
631
00:26:38,866 –> 00:26:41,668
supermercados, é muito bom.
{{supermarkets, it’s very good.}}
632
00:26:41,668 –> 00:26:43,189
E a outra pergunta era,
{{And the other question was,}}
633
00:26:43,203 –> 00:26:44,738
há quanto tempo estamos juntos?
{{how long have we been together?}}
634
00:26:44,738 –> 00:26:46,907
Há 14 anos?
{{For 14 years?}}
635
00:26:46,907 –> 00:26:47,608
13?
{{13?}}
636
00:26:47,908 –> 00:26:48,609
Quase 14?
{{Almost 14?}}
637
00:26:48,720 –> 00:26:49,109
Não.
{{No.}}
638
00:26:50,040 –> 00:26:50,644
15.
{{15.}}
639
00:26:50,944 –> 00:26:55,749
Vai fazer 15, em fevereiro do próximo ano.
{{It’ll be 15 in February next year.}}
640
00:26:56,583 –> 00:26:59,820
Vai fazer 15 anos daqui a dois meses.
{{It’ll be 15 in two months’ time.}}
641
00:27:00,200 –> 00:27:02,089
É muito tempo.
{{That’s a long time.}}
642
00:27:02,122 –> 00:27:02,456
Sim.
{{Yes.}}
643
00:27:02,720 –> 00:27:04,625
E vocês, estão juntos há quanto tempo?
{{And how long have you two been together?}}
644
00:27:04,625 –> 00:27:06,960
Pois, escrevam nos comentários.
{{Well, write in the comments.}}
645
00:27:07,400 –> 00:27:09,963
Jamie [e] Cara [e] Tanuki.
{{Jamie and Cara and Tanuki.}}
646
00:27:10,000 –> 00:27:11,031
Tanuki.
{{Tanuki.}}
647
00:27:11,200 –> 00:27:12,633
Olá, amigos!
{{Hello, friends!}}
648
00:27:12,633 –> 00:27:14,101
É mais um ano,
{{It’s another year,}}
649
00:27:14,101 –> 00:27:18,372
com o vosso cãozinho favorito, o Tanuki.
{{with your favourite little dog, Tanuki.}}
650
00:27:18,840 –> 00:27:24,144
A mesma árvore do Natal, [mas] a estrela [é] diferente.
{{The same Christmas tree, but the star is different.}}
651
00:27:24,711 –> 00:27:27,481
A mesma coruja de peluche.
{{The same stuffed owl.}}
652
00:27:28,348 –> 00:27:32,219
Ouvi dizer que o pessoal do Practice Portuguese
{{I heard that the people at Practice Portuguese}}
653
00:27:32,219 –> 00:27:34,720
quer que façamos perguntas.
{{want us to ask questions.}}
654
00:27:35,088 –> 00:27:36,040
Perguntas?
{{Questions?}}
655
00:27:36,680 –> 00:27:37,524
[Questões]?
{{Questions?}}
656
00:27:37,858 –> 00:27:39,026
Ou dúvidas?
{{Or doubts/questions?}}
657
00:27:39,560 –> 00:27:41,161
[Estou tão confuso!]
{{[I’m so confused!}}]
658
00:27:41,495 –> 00:27:43,764
O que é uma pergunta?
{{What is a question?}}
659
00:27:44,431 –> 00:27:50,037
Ok, não é essa a minha questão, pergunta, dúvida.
{{Ok, that’s not my question, question, question.}}
660
00:27:52,773 –> 00:27:58,278
Então, amigos, sei que têm muitos vídeos destes para ver.
{{So, friends, I know you have a lot of these videos to watch.}}
661
00:27:58,640 –> 00:28:00,647
Por isso, vou ser breve.
{{So I’ll be brief.}}
662
00:28:00,781 –> 00:28:03,417
Aqui está a minha pergunta.
{{Here’s my question.}}
663
00:28:03,884 –> 00:28:08,155
[Contem-nos] algo inesperado sobre vocês.
{{Tell us something unexpected about yourselves.}}
664
00:28:09,200 –> 00:28:15,095
Para mim, eu adoro ficar vendo cabras o dia todo.
{{For me, I love watching goats all day.}}
665
00:28:15,600 –> 00:28:18,332
Enfim, disse que seria breve,
{{Finally, I said it would be brief,}}
666
00:28:18,465 –> 00:28:20,968
por isso vou-me embora.
{{so I’m leaving.}}
667
00:28:21,802 –> 00:28:26,635
Boas festas [de Junceira], Tomar, Portugal
{{Happy holidays from Junceira, Tomar, Portugal}}
668
00:28:26,673 –> 00:28:28,842
e Feliz Ano Novo!
{{and Happy New Year!}}
669
00:28:29,000 –> 00:28:30,344
Tomar!
{{Tomar!}}
670
00:28:30,344 –> 00:28:31,678
Adoro Tomar.
{{I love Tomar.}}
671
00:28:32,040 –> 00:28:32,640
Bem…
{{Well…}}
672
00:28:32,640 –> 00:28:33,614
Boas festas!
{{Happy holidays!}}
673
00:28:34,240 –> 00:28:36,383
[Qual] é que tu dirias que é a diferença
{{What would you say is the difference}}
674
00:28:36,383 –> 00:28:39,553
entre uma pergunta, uma questão e uma dúvida?
{{between a “pergunta”, a “questão”, and a “dúvida”?}}
675
00:28:40,000 –> 00:28:41,755
Pergunta e questão é o mesmo.
{{Pergunta and questão are the same.}}
676
00:28:42,256 –> 00:28:43,857
Eu acho que vocês usam
{{I think you use}}
677
00:28:43,991 –> 00:28:46,360
essas palavras [intercambiavelmente], às vezes.
{{those words interchangeably sometimes.}}
678
00:28:46,360 –> 00:28:48,095
Porque tu podes ter uma dúvida,
{{Because you can have a doubt,}}
679
00:28:48,095 –> 00:28:50,230
e não expressar essa dúvida.
{{and not express that doubt.}}
680
00:28:50,531 –> 00:28:52,666
Uma pergunta é algo que tu
{{A question is something you}}
681
00:28:52,666 –> 00:28:56,870
perguntas a alguém, verbalizas a pergunta.
{{ask someone, you verbalize the question.}}
682
00:28:56,937 –> 00:29:00,361
Dúvida, tu podes ter uma dúvida, interna,
{{Doubt, you can have a doubt, internal,}}
683
00:29:00,361 –> 00:29:01,708
na tua cabeça.
{{in your head.}}
684
00:29:01,800 –> 00:29:03,744
Ou podes ir a um professor,
{{Or you can go to a teacher,}}
685
00:29:03,744 –> 00:29:06,280
e esclarecer uma dúvida.
{{and clarify a question/doubt.}}
686
00:29:06,440 –> 00:29:08,782
Mas em inglês se eu [disser],
{{But in English if I say,}}
687
00:29:08,782 –> 00:29:10,484
[“Eu quero esclarecer uma dúvida”],
{{‘I want to clarify a doubt’,}}
688
00:29:10,484 –> 00:29:12,653
parece que [estou com] um terapeuta.
{{it seems like I’m with a therapist.}}
689
00:29:12,653 –> 00:29:14,720
Mas nós usamos as três de uma forma…
{{But we use all three in a way…}}
690
00:29:14,720 –> 00:29:15,923
[Intercambiável]?
{{[that is] interchangeable?}}
691
00:29:16,023 –> 00:29:16,890
Intercalada?
{{Interspersed?}}
692
00:29:17,320 –> 00:29:17,691
Sim.
{{Yes.}}
693
00:29:18,158 –> 00:29:19,900
Ai, a minha mãe está-me a ligar.
{{Hey, my mom’s calling me.}}
694
00:29:20,120 –> 00:29:20,861
Espera.
{{Wait.}}
695
00:29:20,961 –> 00:29:22,129
Alô!
{{Hello!}}
696
00:29:22,329 –> 00:29:24,131
Oi!
{{Hi!}}
697
00:29:24,331 –> 00:29:25,499
Quem está a falar?
{{Who’s talking?}}
698
00:29:25,499 –> 00:29:27,334
É o meu filho ou é o meu genro?
{{Is it my son or my son-in-law?}}
699
00:29:27,334 –> 00:29:29,160
Não, eu estou aqui, mas está aqui outra pessoa.
{{No, I’m here, but someone else is here.}}
700
00:29:29,160 –> 00:29:31,238
Olá, eu sou o Pai Natal.
{{Hello, I’m Santa Claus.}}
701
00:29:31,960 –> 00:29:35,342
Ah, [bem me] parecia que eras o Pai Natal.
{{Ah, I had a feeling you were Santa Claus.}}
702
00:29:35,560 –> 00:29:37,444
Estás com umas barbas tão giras.
{{You have the cutest beard.}}
703
00:29:37,480 –> 00:29:38,345
Obrigado.
{{Thank you.}}
704
00:29:38,640 –> 00:29:39,413
De nada.
{{You’re welcome.}}
705
00:29:39,446 –> 00:29:41,648
Olha, eu acabei de chegar.
{{Look, I’ve just arrived.}}
706
00:29:42,080 –> 00:29:45,385
Não sei se vocês estão atrasados, como é que é?
{{I don’t know if you’re late, what’s up?}}
707
00:29:45,385 –> 00:29:47,688
Nós estamos, neste momento, a gravar,
{{We’re currently recording,}}
708
00:29:47,688 –> 00:29:54,294
a terminar o nosso vídeo de Natal do Practice Portuguese!
{{finishing our Practice Portuguese Christmas video!}}
709
00:29:55,160 –> 00:29:57,097
Faltam quatro vídeos.
{{Four more videos to go.}}
710
00:29:57,097 –> 00:29:58,320
Quatro? Cinco?
{{Four? Five?}}
711
00:29:58,320 –> 00:29:59,099
Três.
{{Three.}}
712
00:29:59,199 –> 00:29:59,900
Dois.
{{Two.}}
713
00:30:00,400 –> 00:30:03,770
Falta vermos dois vídeos e fazer o [resumo].
{{We still have to watch two videos and do the summary.}}
714
00:30:04,120 –> 00:30:06,773
Olha, vocês não podem oferecer um café, não é?
{{Look, you can’t offer a coffee, right?}}
715
00:30:06,874 –> 00:30:08,275
Estão fechados para…
{{You’re closed to…}}
716
00:30:08,275 –> 00:30:09,877
Estamos a gravar, portanto.
{{We’re recording, so.}}
717
00:30:09,877 –> 00:30:12,560
Se quiseres aparecer na gravação…
{{If you want to appear on the recording…}}
718
00:30:12,560 –> 00:30:14,365
Se quiseres bater à porta, dizer “olá” para a câmara
{{If you want to knock on the door, say hello to the camera}}
719
00:30:14,381 –> 00:30:17,317
e depois sentar-te ali no cantinho, podes vir.
{{and then sit in the corner, you can come.}}
720
00:30:17,880 –> 00:30:20,721
Qual é a tua tradição preferida de Natal?
{{What’s your favourite Christmas tradition?}}
721
00:30:21,160 –> 00:30:23,390
A minha tradição preferida de Natal
{{My favourite Christmas tradition}}
722
00:30:23,390 –> 00:30:26,760
é comer azevias com doce de grão.
{{is eating azevias with sweet chickpea paste.}}
723
00:30:26,800 –> 00:30:28,462
Uau, isso é muito específico.
{{Wow, that’s very specific.}}
724
00:30:28,462 –> 00:30:29,963
É muito bom por acaso.
{{It’s very good actually.}}
725
00:30:30,520 –> 00:30:31,632
É uma boa ideia.
{{It’s a good idea.}}
726
00:30:31,632 –> 00:30:33,200
Eu pensei que tu ias dizer,
{{I thought you were going to say,}}
727
00:30:33,200 –> 00:30:35,435
“abraçar a minha família
{{“hugging my family}}
728
00:30:35,435 –> 00:30:36,937
e decorar a árvore de Natal
{{and decorating the Christmas tree}}
729
00:30:36,937 –> 00:30:38,672
com as minhas netas queridas.”
{{with my darling granddaughters.”}}
730
00:30:39,400 –> 00:30:41,141
Ó filho, mas a mamã não está a concorrer
{{Oh son, but Mommy isn’t running}}
731
00:30:41,141 –> 00:30:42,509
para Miss Mundo.
{{for Miss World.}}
732
00:30:42,643 –> 00:30:46,246
E qual é a palavra mais feliz [da] língua portuguesa?
{{And what’s the happiest word in the Portuguese language?}}
733
00:30:47,014 –> 00:30:50,317
A palavra mais feliz [da] língua portuguesa?
{{The happiest word in the Portuguese language?}}
734
00:30:50,760 –> 00:30:52,219
Opá, ó Joel…
{{Oops, Joel…}}
735
00:30:52,219 –> 00:30:53,086
É “opá”.
{{It’s ‘opá’.}}
736
00:30:53,720 –> 00:30:56,690
Eu agora vou ser realmente um bocadinho Miss Mundo,
{{I’m really going to be a little Miss World now,}}
737
00:30:56,690 –> 00:30:58,926
mas eu acho que é “criança”, sei lá.
{{but I think it’s “child”, I don’t know.}}
738
00:30:59,226 –> 00:30:59,927
Não é?
{{Isn’t it?}}
739
00:31:00,360 –> 00:31:01,461
Criança.
{{Child.}}
740
00:31:01,760 –> 00:31:05,399
“Criança” resume tudo o que é felicidade, não é?
{{“Child” sums up everything that is happiness, doesn’t it?}}
741
00:31:05,400 –> 00:31:06,560
Que pergunta linda!
{{What a beautiful question!}}
742
00:31:06,567 –> 00:31:07,301
Resposta.
{{Answer.}}
743
00:31:08,068 –> 00:31:09,403
Que resposta linda!
{{What a lovely answer!}}
744
00:31:09,636 –> 00:31:10,971
Caiu-te uma lágrima?
{{Did a tear fall?}}
745
00:31:11,360 –> 00:31:12,439
Sim, por acaso.
{{Yes, actually.}}
746
00:31:12,440 –> 00:31:13,473
Bem, até já.
{{Well, I’ll see you later.}}
747
00:31:13,760 –> 00:31:15,309
Até já, se não for antes.
{{See you later, if not sooner.}}
748
00:31:15,309 –> 00:31:15,709
Vá, beijinhos.
{{Go on, kisses.}}
749
00:31:15,709 –> 00:31:16,510
Tchau.
{{Bye.}}
750
00:31:17,320 –> 00:31:19,546
A palavra mais feliz é “criança”.
{{The happiest word is ‘child’.}}
751
00:31:19,546 –> 00:31:21,748
Especialmente quando fazem uma birra.
{{Especially when they throw a tantrum.}}
752
00:31:22,480 –> 00:31:24,585
Contem-nos algo inesperado sobre vocês.
{{Tell us something unexpected about yourselves.}}
753
00:31:24,585 –> 00:31:28,188
Vamos responder à pergunta de [Jamie] e Cara.
{{Let’s answer Jamie and Cara’s question.}}
754
00:31:28,188 –> 00:31:28,589
Ok.
{{Ok.}}
755
00:31:29,790 –> 00:31:30,791
Começa tu.
{{You start.}}
756
00:31:31,400 –> 00:31:32,893
Eu tenho OCD.
{{I have OCD.}}
757
00:31:33,760 –> 00:31:34,628
[Facto divertido].
{{Fun fact.}}
758
00:31:35,040 –> 00:31:35,896
Inesperado.
{{Unexpected.}}
759
00:31:36,430 –> 00:31:37,097
E tu?
{{And you?}}
760
00:31:43,200 –> 00:31:44,480
Não me lembro o que eu disse ontem.
{{I can’t remember what I said yesterday.}}
761
00:31:44,480 –> 00:31:45,806
Tens medo de cobras.
{{You’re afraid of snakes.}}
762
00:31:45,920 –> 00:31:47,280
Ah, tenho medo de cobras, sim.
{{Ah, I’m afraid of snakes, yes.}}
763
00:31:47,280 –> 00:31:47,760
Fobia.
{{Phobia.}}
764
00:31:47,760 –> 00:31:48,375
Pois.
{{That’s right.}}
765
00:31:48,480 –> 00:31:50,477
O Joel nem vê vídeos.
{{Joel doesn’t even watch videos.}}
766
00:31:50,680 –> 00:31:51,278
Não, não.
{{No, no.}}
767
00:31:51,280 –> 00:31:52,379
O Rui diz sempre,
{{Rui always says,}}
768
00:31:52,379 –> 00:31:53,320
“olha, vê este vídeo.”
{{‘look, watch this video.’}}
769
00:31:53,320 –> 00:31:54,660
Não, não, eu não consigo.
{{No, no, I can’t.}}
770
00:31:54,760 –> 00:31:56,813
Eu não sei onde é que [elas] vão,
{{I don’t know where they’re going,}}
771
00:31:56,813 –> 00:31:58,018
para onde [elas] vão.
{{where they’re going.}}
772
00:31:58,018 –> 00:31:59,786
Vão em todas as direções ao mesmo tempo
{{They go in all directions at once}}
773
00:31:59,786 –> 00:32:01,054
e são muito [rápidas].
{{and they’re very fast.}}
774
00:32:01,188 –> 00:32:03,600
Mas se tivesses que agarrar uma cobra, agarravas.
{{But if you had to grab a snake, you would.}}
775
00:32:03,624 –> 00:32:04,124
Não.
{{No.}}
776
00:32:04,880 –> 00:32:06,393
E mais?
{{What else?}}
777
00:32:06,480 –> 00:32:08,328
Gosto de fazer puzzles.
{{I like doing puzzles.}}
778
00:32:09,296 –> 00:32:10,797
Uma coisa inesperada…
{{An unexpected thing…}}
779
00:32:10,920 –> 00:32:12,566
Conduzes como uma avó.
{{You drive like a grandmother.}}
780
00:32:13,320 –> 00:32:16,403
Não, eu conduzo de uma forma segura.
{{No, I drive safely.}}
781
00:32:19,306 –> 00:32:20,908
As avós também.
{{So do grandmothers.}}
782
00:32:20,960 –> 00:32:21,909
[Algumas.]
{{Some.}}
783
00:32:21,920 –> 00:32:23,610
Eu não consigo pensar em nada.
{{I can’t think of anything.}}
784
00:32:24,978 –> 00:32:26,146
Antes de tomar o café,
{{Before I have my coffee,}}
785
00:32:26,146 –> 00:32:29,950
eu como três gomitas de creatina.
{{I eat three gummies of creatine.}}
786
00:32:30,150 –> 00:32:32,519
Uau, que inesperado!
{{Wow, how unexpected!}}
787
00:32:33,253 –> 00:32:34,888
O Joel é a pessoa que eu conheço
{{Joel is the person I know}}
788
00:32:34,888 –> 00:32:36,523
que adormece mais rápido.
{{who falls asleep the fastest.}}
789
00:32:39,059 –> 00:32:40,480
E eu sou a pessoa que ele conhece
{{And I’m the person he knows}}
790
00:32:40,480 –> 00:32:42,663
que acorda mais bem disposta.
{{who wakes up in the best mood.}}
791
00:32:44,120 –> 00:32:48,520
Próximo vídeo, Rich [de] Seattle.
{{Next video, Rich from Seattle.}}
792
00:32:48,520 –> 00:32:49,520
Olá, Joel.
{{Hello, Joel.}}
793
00:32:49,520 –> 00:32:50,437
Olá, Rui.
{{Hello, Rui.}}
794
00:32:50,440 –> 00:32:51,805
Boas festas!
{{Happy holidays!}}
795
00:32:51,939 –> 00:32:54,741
[O] meu nome é Rich, de Seattle,
{{My name is Rich, from Seattle,}}
796
00:32:55,409 –> 00:32:58,011
de Washington, nos Estados Unidos.
{{from Washington, in the United States.}}
797
00:32:58,612 –> 00:33:02,616
Eu quero agradecer [pela vossa aplicação],
{{I want to thank you for your application,}}
798
00:33:02,716 –> 00:33:04,685
e pelas aulas e vídeos.
{{and for the lessons and videos.}}
799
00:33:04,685 –> 00:33:06,520
Eu gosto muito.
{{I like it very much.}}
800
00:33:07,020 –> 00:33:10,224
A minha pergunta, [é sobre] a festa de Natal,
{{My question, is about the Christmas party,}}
801
00:33:10,757 –> 00:33:15,095
[e o que fazem com os presentes que não querem,
{{and what do you do with the presents that you don’t want,}}
802
00:33:15,095 –> 00:33:16,663
que não precisam?]
{{that you don’t need?}}]
803
00:33:17,497 –> 00:33:20,133
[Dão a uma outra pessoa?]
{{Do you give them to someone else?}}
804
00:33:21,080 –> 00:33:24,438
Eu não preciso [de] muitas coisas
{{I don’t need many things}}
805
00:33:24,438 –> 00:33:30,310
e prefiro um presente [como um refeição],
{{and I prefer a gift like a meal,}}
806
00:33:31,812 –> 00:33:37,017
jantar [ou uma experiência divertida] juntos.
{{dinner, or a fun experience together.}}
807
00:33:38,285 –> 00:33:43,290
[Mas] eu não sei quanto tempo preciso
{{But I don’t know how long I need}}
808
00:33:43,423 –> 00:33:48,996
[de guardar] um presente [que eu não preciso.]
{{to keep a present that I don’t need.}}
809
00:33:49,530 –> 00:33:51,932
Obrigado e feliz Natal!
{{Thank you and Merry Christmas!}}
810
00:33:52,280 –> 00:33:52,980
Tchau!
{{Bye!}}
811
00:33:53,840 –> 00:33:55,600
Ele está a falar de “re-gifting”, não é?
{{He’s talking about ‘re-gifting’, isn’t he?}}
812
00:33:55,640 –> 00:33:57,271
Como é que vocês dizem isso, “re-gift”?
{{How do you say that, ‘re-gift’?}}
813
00:33:57,320 –> 00:33:58,605
Não dizemos.
{{We don’t.}}
814
00:33:58,680 –> 00:34:00,941
Oferecer de novo.
{{“To offer again”.}}
815
00:34:01,280 –> 00:34:04,011
Então, acho que fazemos a mesma coisa os dois,
{{So, I think we both do the same thing,}}
816
00:34:04,011 –> 00:34:07,214
que é oferecemos um presente que não queremos,
{{which is to offer a gift that we don’t want,}}
817
00:34:07,214 –> 00:34:08,882
ou não vamos usar,
{{or won’t use,}}
818
00:34:08,882 –> 00:34:11,985
já sabemos que não temos uma função
{{we already know that we don’t have a function}}
819
00:34:11,985 –> 00:34:13,657
para aquela prenda.
{{for that gift.}}
820
00:34:13,687 –> 00:34:15,189
Mas explicamos à pessoa
{{But we explain to the person}}
821
00:34:15,189 –> 00:34:17,224
que foi uma prenda que recebemos.
{{that it was a gift we received.}}
822
00:34:17,360 –> 00:34:19,560
Não fingimos que fomos nós que comprámos.
{{We don’t pretend that we bought it.}}
823
00:34:19,560 –> 00:34:20,027
Sim.
{{Yes.}}
824
00:34:20,520 –> 00:34:23,430
E, normalmente, gosto de tirar uma fotografia
{{And I usually like to take a picture}}
825
00:34:23,430 –> 00:34:25,132
ao presente para, pelo menos,
{{of the gift to at least}}
826
00:34:25,132 –> 00:34:27,801
lembrar-me que aquela pessoa me ofereceu aquilo.
{{to remind myself that that person gave it to me.}}
827
00:34:28,468 –> 00:34:29,670
Isso é muito Marie Kondo.
{{That’s very Marie Kondo.}}
828
00:34:29,670 –> 00:34:30,137
Sim.
{{Yes.}}
829
00:34:31,920 –> 00:34:36,040
E eu acredito que a alegria de um presente
{{And I believe that the joy of a gift}}
830
00:34:36,040 –> 00:34:40,948
está no ato de oferecer, no momento da oferta.
{{is in the act of giving, at the moment of giving.}}
831
00:34:41,080 –> 00:34:41,880
Eu concordo.
{{I agree.}}
832
00:34:41,880 –> 00:34:44,218
E que o que fazes depois já não me interessa.
{{And I don’t care what you do afterwards.}}
833
00:34:44,885 –> 00:34:46,086
Quem será?
{{Who is it?}}
834
00:34:46,253 –> 00:34:48,822
Oh, um [convidado] especial!
{{Oh, a special guest!}}
835
00:34:49,120 –> 00:34:50,080
Olá!
{{Hello!}}
836
00:34:50,080 –> 00:34:51,558
Olá, bem-vinda!
{{Hello, welcome!}}
837
00:34:51,600 –> 00:34:52,960
Bem-vinda!
{{Welcome!}}
838
00:34:53,560 –> 00:34:54,360
É o Rich.
{{It’s Rich.}}
839
00:34:54,360 –> 00:34:55,729
Ana Coimbra!
{{Ana Coimbra!}}
840
00:34:56,000 –> 00:34:57,130
Olá, Rich!
{{Hello, Rich!}}
841
00:34:57,130 –> 00:34:58,298
Senhoras e senhores.
{{Ladies and gentlemen}}
842
00:34:58,298 –> 00:34:59,833
Queres um chocolate de licor?
{{Do you want a chocolate liqueur?}}
843
00:34:59,840 –> 00:35:00,667
Quero!
{{I do!}}
844
00:35:00,680 –> 00:35:01,969
Boas festas, Rich!
{{Happy holidays, Rich!}}
845
00:35:02,160 –> 00:35:03,637
Então, vamos continuar,
{{So, let’s continue,}}
846
00:35:03,637 –> 00:35:05,960
vamos prosseguir para o próximo vídeo que é…
{{let’s move on to the next video which is…}}
847
00:35:05,960 –> 00:35:07,674
Acho que é o último vídeo, não é?
{{I think it’s the last video, isn’t it?}}
848
00:35:07,808 –> 00:35:10,777
Vamos então ouvir o vídeo da Gigi.
{{Let’s listen to Gigi’s video.}}
849
00:35:11,311 –> 00:35:12,446
Olá!
{{Hello!}}
850
00:35:12,520 –> 00:35:16,250
[O] meu nome é Gigi, e sou de Los Angeles.
{{My name is Gigi, and I’m from Los Angeles.}}
851
00:35:16,360 –> 00:35:18,619
[O] meu marido [é] português,
{{My husband is Portuguese,}}
852
00:35:18,619 –> 00:35:21,588
[e a] minha pergunta é para o Joel.
{{and my question is for Joel.}}
853
00:35:22,000 –> 00:35:24,858
Enquanto aprendo a língua,
{{While I learn the language,}}
854
00:35:24,860 –> 00:35:28,896
tento me conectar com a família do meu marido
{{I try to connect with my husband’s family}}
855
00:35:28,896 –> 00:35:31,031
sem usar palavras.
{{without using words.}}
856
00:35:31,532 –> 00:35:36,403
Aprendo os jogos de cartas, [sueca] e bisca,
{{I learn card games, like sueca and bisca,}}
857
00:35:36,403 –> 00:35:39,740
dou bilhetes de loteria para as tias.
{{give lottery tickets to my aunts.}}
858
00:35:39,880 –> 00:35:42,876
O que [fizeste] para [te conectares]
{{What did you do to connect}}
859
00:35:42,876 –> 00:35:44,678
com [a] família do Rui,
{{with Rui’s family,}}
860
00:35:44,679 –> 00:35:48,048
quando [o teu] português ainda não era bom?
{{when your Portuguese wasn’t good yet?}}
861
00:35:48,720 –> 00:35:49,650
Beijinhos!
{{Kisses!}}
862
00:35:49,816 –> 00:35:51,985
Obrigada e boas festas!
{{Thank you and happy holidays!}}
863
00:35:51,985 –> 00:35:53,453
Boas festas!
{{Happy holidays!}}
864
00:35:54,360 –> 00:35:57,090
Olha, se eu conseguisse de alguma maneira
{{Look, if I could somehow}}
865
00:35:57,090 –> 00:35:59,293
falar com alguém da família do Rui…
{{talk to someone in Rui’s family…}}
866
00:35:59,293 –> 00:36:01,795
Se calhar, eles podem responder melhor do que eu.
{{Perhaps they could answer better than me.}}
867
00:36:05,080 –> 00:36:07,067
Quando o Joel chegou a Portugal,
{{When Joel arrived in Portugal,}}
868
00:36:07,100 –> 00:36:11,271
ele conectava-se com a minha família.
{{he connected with my family.}}
869
00:36:11,939 –> 00:36:14,875
Ele tentava falar com o pouco vocabulário que tinha,
{{He tried to speak with the little vocabulary he had,}}
870
00:36:14,875 –> 00:36:16,276
mas tentava.
{{but he tried.}}
871
00:36:16,276 –> 00:36:18,078
E sem palavras,
{{And without words,}}
872
00:36:18,078 –> 00:36:21,415
eu acho que tentava conectar-se através,
{{I think he tried to connect through,}}
873
00:36:21,415 –> 00:36:24,551
por exemplo, do apreço pelas refeições
{{for example, his appreciation of the meals}}
874
00:36:24,551 –> 00:36:26,253
que fazíamos juntos. Por exemplo,
{{we had together. For example,}}
875
00:36:26,253 –> 00:36:28,760
num almoço de família, podes…
{{at a family lunch, you can…}}
876
00:36:32,040 –> 00:36:34,294
É daqui!
{{It’s “from here”!}}
877
00:36:34,294 –> 00:36:36,230
Podes dizer que gostas da comida,
{{You can say you like the food,}}
878
00:36:36,230 –> 00:36:39,333
podes ajudar na confeção da comida,
{{you can help make the food,}}
879
00:36:39,333 –> 00:36:42,903
podes ajudar a arrumar as coisas depois.
{{you can help tidy up afterwards.}}
880
00:36:42,903 –> 00:36:45,506
Às vezes, eu peço ajuda com o vocabulário.
{{Sometimes I ask for help with vocabulary.}}
881
00:36:45,600 –> 00:36:47,960
Olha, sogra, o que é esta coisa aqui?
{{Look, mother-in-law, what’s this thing here?}}
882
00:36:47,975 –> 00:36:48,809
O que é isto?
{{What’s this?}}
883
00:36:49,000 –> 00:36:49,910
Uma chávena.
{{A cup.}}
884
00:36:49,910 –> 00:36:51,445
Uma chávena, boa.
{{A cup, good.}}
885
00:36:52,012 –> 00:36:54,200
Estás a ver esta ligação que nós temos agora?
{{Do you see this connection we have now?}}
886
00:36:54,200 –> 00:36:55,749
Pronto, é assim.
{{That’s it.}}
887
00:36:55,749 –> 00:36:57,784
Mas eu acho que nunca houve uma fase
{{But I don’t think there was ever a time}}
888
00:36:57,784 –> 00:37:01,989
em que o Joel não soubesse dizer nada, pois não?
{{when Joel didn’t know how to say anything, was there?}}
889
00:37:02,000 –> 00:37:04,491
Sim, no início tinha algum vocabulário,
{{Yes, at first he had some vocabulary,}}
890
00:37:04,491 –> 00:37:05,726
era mais básico.
{{it was more basic.}}
891
00:37:05,760 –> 00:37:07,194
Mas eu achei muito engraçado
{{But I found it very funny}}

E o vencedor de um ano de Practice Portuguese é…

Tanuki!

Para a família toda?

Bem, a família direta.

Very impressed with Joel’s pronunciation…as a novice he sounds Portuguese. Saying that he does have the best teacher! 😂😂. Thanks guys for everything, you’re the best!!!
Hi guys, I really wish I could write this in Portuguese. Hopefully next year.
It was a fun surprise to find our questions included in the video. And congrats on your upcoming 15th anniversary! That’s so beautiful. Kei and I have been together for 26.5 years (you asked). Two weeks after Kei retired at the end of September, we began our move to Lisboa. We’ve been staying in the western part of Alvalade, what I would call the flightpath district. (omg.) We’ve prowled so many neighborhoods in our search and right before we came back to New York to pick up our visas at our point of origin (new Portuguese rule) we signed a lease for a beautiful apartment right by Sé. We’ll be flying back on TAP (first time) in a couple of weeks, so we look forward to seeing the Practice Portuguese rooster printed on every cocktail napkin. Boas festas to you and your lovely family. Reno and Kei
Ola. Nao pode encontrar a musica de Natal en Spotify. Gosto a ideia de Buble, Krall etc. Joel, será que ele poderia tornar isso público? Acho que gostaria de ver as escolhas dele.
Muito obrigado.
