The fact that you have added subtitles to your media library really sold me on becoming a subscribing member. As a passionate learner of languages, with some 35 years of experience under my belt, I’ve used all kinds of language acquisition materials, both on- and offline. You are all quite impressive in the layout and order of the units…Practice Portuguese is the ONLY language program that I have tried that is so easy to follow and thoughtful to appeal to new learners. AND it is NOT Brazilian Portuguese. That in itself is worth it. You need billboards to let people know.

I just watched the video “5,000 words” and it was fantastic! I learned so much in those 30 minutes! I am 67 years young and throughout the last year, I have taken Portuguese lessons with 2-3 teachers. I have learned some things but it was never really fun. I love Practice Portuguese for that reason. The different teaching methods are fun. Keep up the good work!

Continuo a adorar Practicing Portuguese! The last few weeks Ive been binge studying and love it. I can’t believe how thorough the content is! You guys really thought of everything and it is all so practical.
Besides the opportunity to really dive deep into the the language, I am finding that it somehow is guiding me and showing me a path to follow in order to actually make this big move to Portugal possible. I am not sure if I am expressing this correctly but learning the vocabulary about visas, opening a bank account and setting up utilities in Portugal is real and invaluable.
I watched the latest video ” 50 sombras de Odete”. It was so touching and funny!

Wow, really loving the site. Really great podcasts also, love the 5000 words one, Rui and Joel are a crack up. Also again, I can’t say enough about the thorough explanation of the language. Just did the first AR verb lesson and then did some of the practice quizzes for some of the verbs and I already feel like I am grasping the different verb tenses. Those flash review cards have made a big difference to my comprehension. I finally have a feel for the language and even though clumsy, I can construct sentences with the cards’ phrases. From hearing the emphasis on the how words are pronounced, to the different exercises reading, listening, writing, the little video clips of people saying the phrase, to the recordings and quizzes afterwards. I cannot thank you enough! I have downloaded both your podcasts and was just so excited by the 3 video Series on You Tube that you did in 2016 of the 5,000 words, then the emphasis on sounds and how the mouth, tongue and jaw works and then the super generous video on tips and resources!! Finalmente encontrei um curso Europeu-Português, que eu gosto! Gosto MUITO! Eu moro já alguns anos (muitos) em Portugal… Moro em paraíso! Mas bastante isolado. Tenho contactos, mas não muito e por isso é difícil aprender a língua Português. Uma língua muito difícil. E aqui a gente fala em dialecto. I love the “turtle” slow pronunciation. For the first time I can understand the mouth positions for each word. I have both taken lessons and used numerous courses…but i have never been able to hear the subtilies in pronunciation. I have even spent months in Portugal.

I love the whole way the lessons are carried out. I particularly appreciate the ability to click on the speaker and hear words and phrases pronounced throughout the lessons and website. I have subscribed to both podcasts – Shorties and the regular one and am really thrilled with the whole body of work Practice Portuguese has built. This system is just what I have been looking for to re-learn Portuguese. I and my family hold Portuguese citizenship and we are planning to return to live there in a few years and I am excited to think that I will soon be able to speak, read and understand the language again.
